NFU have made me pay the increase in RRP on a watch I had stolen even though the increase occurred midway though my policy. Even their own brokers say this is incorrect but despite complaining they are refusing to refund me. I’ve also been waiting 13 weeks for my replacement watch because they won’t source it from a reputable reseller, only the manufacturer! Really bad service and underhand tactics.

They are back far the best insurers we have dealt with. We have made claims in the past for both buildings and home insurance. They have never quibbled or challenged our claims, only asked for reasonable
Information to process the claims.

And the best customer service we’ve experienced from an insurance company.

In May 2020 I discovered damp patches from a leak that was coming from my en suite shower through the ceiling to the study below. The damage was extensive and NFU contracted the repair work out to C. Hanlon, a trades company. Work began on 24th June 2020 and for ther next 5 months my house was in total upheaval. I never knew if/when workmen would turn up. There were frequent, lengthy delays when they were sent off to other jobs and communication was sparse. The shower room and adjoining bedroom were gutted, the shower, wash basin and toilet were dismantled, carpets and floor boards were ripped up, the bedroom furniture was sent to storage, the ceiling and wallpaper in the study below where the water had leaked through had to be replaced. At one point when the workmen had left for the weekend, I found that they had left a pipe dripping which caused another leak through the ceiling below. By mid-October, the work was finally completed...or so I thought, but in February this year I noticed that the vinyl floor in the shower room had started lifting and suspected that the shower was still leaking. The NFU Claims Adjuster came out, gave a cursory look around and concluded that there was not a problem. However, when I lifted the vinyl I found that the floor boards were soaking. The leak is coming from under the shower tray. So now I am back to where I was in May 2020, with apparently no redress forthcoming. My calls are met with vague promises of future action which has so far not materialised. I wrote to NFU Customer Relations requesting that my claim be prioritised in view of the fact that their subcontractor's incompetence has caused this situation. Their response was that it takes 40 days to resolve a complaint, so clearly I am wasting my time with them.

Great personal service

Personal service. I have had the same agent for 4 years. I have consolidatedall of my insurances with NFU. This benefits with a mutual fund discount each year. No difficulty when making a claim either. Very straightforward and easy process.

First class insurance

Their cover is amazing, it offers all the things other companies would class as optional extras but they give it to you no charge. They don't charge admin fees or interest for paying over 12 months. Great, reliable company.

My son had a serious accident involving a car which knocked him off his bicycle. This was a hit and run, and the driver has never been traced. NFU were so sympathetic and helpful- within a short time we had the claim funds enabling my son to rebuild his bike. It was a while before he was fit for cycling again, however! I particularly liked the helpful and friendly attitude of the staff who discussed my claim. They made things simple and I’d highly recommend them.

I’ve been with NFU for over 4 years now and I had my house, contents, vehicles and travel insurance with them. I was paying well over £1800 a year. So when my watch was either lost or stolen on the London Underground this year, I was disgusted when I was treated like a criminal. I was basically called a liar and quizzed on how could they have got it off your wrist? Erin Ronan was the lady in question who was obviously tasked with denying my claim. Now if you are new to London and drunk, I was there for a weekend away. It is not difficult for a professional thief to take advantage of the situation. Because of this incident I have taken all my business elsewhere. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS. They were happy taking my money each year. I am writing this to warn others and if I stop just one person going with them. It’s business they have lost.

After several years with another insurance company, never having made a claim and having our premiums rocket every year I shopped around and found NFU. Their quote was about half of what I had previously been paying and a friend recommended them.

Over the four years that I have been with them they have only increased premiums by amounts that barely cover inflation and last year I actually had to make a claim. It was the first time in over 40 years of holding home insurance that I have had to make a claim, the claim amounted to £600.

The claim process was so easy, no form filling, the agent in the local office handled it all for me and the pay out was very quick. Well done NFU, I'm a convert and will stay with you for many years.

worth paying for first rate service

So glad we were covered by the NFU.
Also you get to know your NFU adviser on first name terms and it has the personal touch rather than a large faceless online only business.

Had cause to use the personal legal insurance package that was part of the home insurance. Turned out that it was one of the highest levels of personal legal insurance that can be offered by an insurance company and came in very very useful for us, at no expense and without having to claim off the policy.
Highly recommended in addition for the personal service where one local officer deals with you insurance case.

A lot of companies in the UK promote multi-cultarism within there workplaces with an ethnic minority policy.

I recently went to an interview in the Glasgow office, the feeling I got was I felt they never wanted me there.
I believe I smashed and did really well in the role play and interview excercise at the interview

When probing for feedback from the HR associate Stephanie Garcia (HR associate) in NFU Mutual, the feedback was inaccurate and full of lies. At the interview stage the guys spoke to me in an abrupt way whilst asking questions, no-one I met on the day were welcoming apart from one of the managers called Jan, never been treated like this at an interview

I can sit here all day and prove myself but am better than that..... will look to further my career in a business which promotes equal opportunities for all and multi-cultarism and which hires candidates based on previous results and experience

NFU Mutual has potentially lost someone which could have grown there business 5 fold with my industry contacts

NFU There when needed.

This is a customer focussed insurance company. We had to make our first ever claim last summer, we could not believe how easy & simple the claim process was. Full payment came through really quickly in good time to pay the repair bills.

Our daughter insured her home and sole trading business with NFU. When she was sadly killed in a car crash (boy racer in a range rover hit her head on), NFU were just superb, helpful in every way and paid out quickly on all the items destroyed in the crash - she had a large tv in the boot of the car!
