You have to fight for years to get a proper payout from them after 50 years of being a loyal customer. Dreadful company with even worse loss adjusters It’s a long fight to get a proper payout . Dreadful company with even worse loss adjusters. Reviewed on: 22nd August 2023

NFU There when needed.

This is a customer focussed insurance company. We had to make our first ever claim last summer, we could not believe how easy & simple the claim process was. Full payment came through really quickly in good time to pay the repair bills. Reviewed on: 31st December 2017

Our daughter insured her home and sole trading business with NFU. When she was sadly killed in a car crash (boy racer in a range rover hit her head on), NFU were just superb, helpful in every way and paid out quickly on all the items destroyed in the crash - she had a large tv in the boot of the car! Best insurance company!

I have my horse insured with NFU. Unfortunately and very suddenly my horse passed away. NFU handled everything without me having to do anything but ring up and give details! I was so impressed as I've never had to deal with something like this before. They payed out quickly and promotly! Would highly recommend! Reviewed on: 25th September 2017

No hassle, great at settling claims

They covered the cost of my caravan (included in home insurance) when it was stolen and paid up to the maximum insured cost. They also provided legal assistance to recover our uninsured losses. NFU Mutual also covered the repair to my mobile phone after I dropped it. Reviewed on: 2nd August 2017

Great service and you get to speak to a local rep

NFU are perhaps a little more pricey than competitors but you know that they will pay out should the worst happen, I also like that a sales person comes to visit you to find out your specific needs and how to get the best comprise between cover and cost. I also like the fact they don't charge you any extra for paying monthly instead of one up front cost. Reviewed on: 21st July 2017

2 claims in a week

I have used NFU for around 20 years & have only claimed for a smashed iPhone. When I moved house in December and had to put 2 claims in, in quick succession I wasn't hopeful. Both claims were dealt with and I received money in the New Year. It was very reassuring to be dealt with so kindly at such a busy and stressful time of year: moving house followed by Christmas. Dealing with the NFU Mutual, they explain what you are getting with your policy. They explain excesses and what is and isn't covered. And the section to cover items away from the home is second to none! Reviewed on: 14th July 2017
