Huge mistake of age.com 2024 switch of Underwriter.

I was with age.com for many years and very satisfied with their ageous underwriter. In 2024 with great fanfare age.com announced it was switching to LV, whose road /home assistance was with Brittania. After 50 years with the AA I reluctantly swopped as the LV cover was cheaper. This year, LV has quoted a renewal sum of £794.19 against last year’s quote of £489.45! They state ‘Your LV Car Insurance won’t renew unless you contact us.’ How many age.com members can afford that increase? I’m livid at having ceased my gold membership with the AA and am sure I’m not alone feeling cast aside. Reviewed on: 19th January 2025

Failure to communicate

My car was hit by a woman driver emerging from a side road. The damage to the car was extensive and it was subsequently written off, even though it was a hybrid and only one year old. Initially LV were impressive, and on the same morning as the accident, arranged for recovery to a bodyshop for assessment, and a hire car for later that afternoon. Since then..? I only fond out what is happening/has happened by what action I am taking. E-mails are not replied to, promised call-backs are not made, and the one occasion when I finally managed to get hold of a human being who had some information, it was to inform me of the write-off, and a severely sub-standard offer to settle, which was rejected. To add insult to injury the bodyshop told me minutes ago that another company had already collected my car (yesterday) "for salvage purposes". So, initially LV were heading towards a '5' star review, whereas now they are clearly a '1' star. Very, very disappointing from one of the 'better' recommended insurers in the UK. Still waiting

Following an accident that wasn’t my fault Liverpool Victoria had my car assessed by one of there recommended repairer’s..5 weeks later nothing had happened. The garage hadn’t even ordered parts.I complained and was sent to a second repair garage 12 miles from my home who could not start work on my car for another3 weeks. They picked up the car and have had it for 4 weeks and it’s still not repaired. From reporting the accident to Liverpool Victoria to the present it’s been 12 weeks of being messed about and my car is still being repaired in a garage 12 miles from my home. I will never use Liverpool Victoria again for any insurance cover and would never recommend them to anyone. Reviewed on: 5th November 2022

Make a car claim and no one pick up calls for more than two hours

I want to make a claim on Saturday, will you believe that I keep calling the number and more than 2 hours, still no one picks up the call. What a terrible experience with LV car insurance. Please avoid. Reviewed on: 8th October 2022

Cheap because their repair service is horrendous - steer clear of these shysters

I was a happy customer with LV for years until I needed to claim when my car was hit by another driver. A small accident and the fault of the other driver. I was initially told it would take 2 days of work to repair. Sadly LV use a failing repair service called Artis. It is now more than 3 months after the accident and I still don’t have the repair done. They have had the car for over 5 weeks of that time, I have had countless conversations, every excuse under the sun (lack of staff, repairs went wrong, no parts ordered, wrong parts ordered, holidays, can’t find the wheel locking nut (on a very common car - no one thought to check the manual in the glove compartment!), accident outside workshop, ….). You could not make it up. My estimated completion date has now moved 9 times! Promised again for Monday but I’ll believe it if I (ever) see it. LV turned out to be a very expensive choice of insurer given all the cost incurred by not having a car for so long! Avoid!!!! Reviewed on: 23rd September 2022
