I’ve been with Marshmallow Insurance for over 3 years, never made a claim, and always kept my MOT up to date. However, after I was involved in a car accident, they completely failed me. After reporting the accident, it took them 15 days to provide me with an engineer’s report, and when I asked for the full report to understand what happened, they refused to give it to me. Instead, they just told me the issue was my tyres. Once my policy was cancelled, they provided no support whatsoever. I had no idea where my car was, and they only gave me unreachable contact details for a third-party engineer. I had to spend hours calling different garages and scrap metal companies just to figure out what to do. Marshmallow left me alone, stressed, and completely unsupported in a time when I needed help most. On top of that, they refused to refund the unused portion of my premium and charged me cancellation fees. All of this while they failed to provide me with the guidance I needed to resolve the situation. If you’re thinking about going with Marshmallow for your insurance, DON’T. They may seem like a good deal at first, but when things go wrong, you’ll be left high and dry with no help. This is by far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Marshmallow are burglars in disguise!! They will happily take your money from you however when you need them they try to avoid and cancel the policy. My vehicle was stolen and they tried to say as I didn’t declare points they are voiding my insurance and not paying out although this was a genuine error as it’s really difficult to contact them Reviewed on: 15th March 2023

Incorrect company

I had an accident, they drove into me from behind and pushed me into the car braking in front of me. The internals are so simple that Marshmallow even admitted in his first letter that it was definitely not my fault. After a long time, they announced that they would not pay... meanwhile I had many questions for them, they never answered, they just repeated their stupid answers. They didn't write facts, but long meaningless ramblings. For example, I have asked these questions several times, but I have never received an answer. "Dear Sir/Madam, I hope you are well. I still don't accept your decision. And please answer these questions point by point. 1. If I pay my insurance correctly + I am not at fault in the accident! Why should I care that the 3rd party is not cooperating? I am under contract with Marshmallow, it is You. You will pay for my damage and then collect it from the at-fault party's insurance company. This is how it should work! Otherwise, what would be the point of paying my insurance every month? 2. What exactly does it mean that the 3rd party is "not cooperating"? She doesn't answer, she doesn't have insurance, she can't be found, she does not take responsibility, etc. 3. Why didn't you get concrete answers to my earlier questions? 4. The first email I received from your colleague after the accident said that I was not to blame for the accident and that you would take action, I have nothing to worry about! What has changed since then? I would like to receive accurate and satisfactory answers to these questions. Could you please clarify and send to me in writing that Marshmallow would not be reimbursing my costs of repair because the 3rd party has denied responsibility so I can take this up further legally. Avoid at all costs

Have been exceedingly happy with marshmallow until recently. My car was in a flood a couple of weeks ago - after soon realising marshmallow fully intended in dragging their feet on validating my claim relating to this and were content on leaving me and this my family without a car for at least a few weeks I went out and got another. However, since forking out on this Marshmellow are desperately trying to cancel my policy or “trip me up” in regards to my claim on the flooded car (worth just around £2500). First they insinuated my car was not taxed and didn’t accept any evidence I provided until I gave them an undeniable amount and now they are sending cancellation notifications for “speeding” although I highly contest one of the occurrences - I never knowingly drive 20mph over the limit and the other I was a passenger (indicating the unsuitability of their app). Bear in mind their app rates my driving style ‘pro’ and I had no such need for speed before the claim. I must say, many of the first line representatives I’ve spoke to on the app have been exceedingly helpful. However, the company is not interested in providing the service advertised, just lining its pockets - only to desperately reel out of an agreement at any unethical expense when required to honour it. Please avoid this company

My husband and I are insured with this company. Our car was involved in an accident while parked stationery on the road 6 days ago and it is not in safe position/condition. We have been trying to get it off the road and get a replacement car but no help or response from this insurance company. I can't even get to them as they don't seem to have a help line contact number. We are so distressed and disappointed as neighbours/ council asking us for the car to be removed and we need a replacement car but no help. Please avoid this company and pay a bit extra go with a reputable company so in case of accident/ emergency you get someone to turn to. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023

should not be trading at all

This company shouldn't be trading at all. I had a car insurance with them and had a car accident hit by third party. They don't have a no fault claim service meaning you will pay access and will not be able to recover back at all. Customer services is poor only on chat and email where they ask same question again again without providing you any concrete information. I have comprehensive cover with replacement vehicle cover and should get a vehicle if in accident. Got the car after 3 weeks with the repair garage and they taken away after few days without repairing car. Car written off. Took several weeks to get the money back for written car. 8 months gone and claim still not settled so paying high insurance cost till this is settled. They rely on third parties with no service at all. The other party admitted the fault but imagine loosing your access, paying high insurance costs and daily mental torture. Such a HORRIBLE experience! Got hit by another car last week then began to do the insurance. Marshmallow suddenly cancelled my policy without notice. As a claimer, its really RIDICULOUS to bear all the charges just because they DONT want to cover the insurance. Reviewed on: 28th February 2023

Nearing 6 weeks with no claim payout, lying say it was my bank. Bank said no such attempt was made. Then there was an issue with my drivers licence. Then when that was verified it was a problem with my address. Its the biggest scam going!!!!!!! Reviewed on: 23rd February 2023

That means they don’t have customer service. There is no phone number to call. They have full control on whether they reply the online chat and email or not. They responded my online chat query 4 days later after I have found a way to do it myself! If it’s an issue, they most likely would not reply. Best of luck if you are using them! very very bad

This is one of the most horrible company. i been i car accident since 20 january and it wasn’t my fault and they decided me as total lost and written off my car, i dont know how else to deal with them and not just that i have been 1 month and still nothing. and after they come to me to let me know the car is written off as total lost, and they never come and see my car at all and decide whatever they wanted and the car cost me £8000 and tey value my car £7380 minus £750 acces and minus £2080 to pay the whole insurance so they want to give to me £4550 and to take my car,this is o unacceptable… after they give me until 30 days to put in insuranc another car. i did buy 2 days ago another car cheaper one and the insurance will cost a year 1 £1800 less . they accepted to insure my vw and they still charged me £243 a months and they took my money on my bank without been agreed they charged me same like the price i was for my mercedes E clas, they cancel the insurance to my mercedes and transferred to my golf vw and priced me same money and they still wants to pay to them £2080 for whole year insurance ATTENTION my name is Justin whoever had very bad experience with this company i’m texting to call everyone to join me i will start a court against them i will shoot down this company so they will not ript of anomyre other customers. this is my contact number 07383867210 Reviewed on: 17th February 2023
