Black box

I am really struggling with the black box that is fitted to my daughters car she is getting really upset and starting to make her ill with worry and to be fair I’m not supprised the blacks are so far out in speed and smoothness is is impossible to score correctly if you are in traffic you will get -10 smoothness if you go 1 mph even tho there should be 10% leeway you will get speed -10 I drive my daughters car and did 3 test first test not in traffic and drive 2-3 mph less than speed +10 second test drive as you should no traffic tho get done -10 speed and 3 test traffic and normal -10 on both I even rang them while on 3rd test to be told I was doing 59 in a 50 I stopped the car and demanded it be checked a hour later corrected I wasn’t speeding the 3rd partly that runs the boxes have no idea and if you go out while cloudly forget it minus minus minus Reviewed on: 1st July 2018

Trust me n never have your policy done with this fraud company .. they will be very good to do your policy n never let u know their terms n conditions bt after few days they contact you guys that u have been overspeeding according to the box which is total lie, n next letter u get is cancelling up the policy. One get stuck is such a bad way that u have to pay them more money to cancel the policy .. I paid 1000£ upfront after a while they cancelled saying u overspeed on a m4 motorway. I mean common there r bloody camera’s on m4 then they asked me to pay 300£ more to pay the difference bt accordingly i called up my policy before 4 months myself n should get my upfront back.. they r bloody thugs..customer service is way rude, manager doesnt listen, i mean this company should shut down as soon as possible hoping others doesnt get robbed by them Reviewed on: 21st June 2018

Black box

Been with this company six months and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone!!! I have a black box and it’s awful. Firstly Saying I’m speeding on a road that has 3 speed cameras (that all work). Secondly saying that I was doing 60 mph on a road that you cant even do that speed down, but once I rang them they said that they triple check everything so it can’t be wrong, spoke to a guy on one occasion about the black box saying I was speeding, and the next week had an email saying that they had sorted a minor technical issue (surely this shows there’s a problem with the black box). The third problem I’ve had is that the black box isn’t calculating my driving, on one day it said I didn’t drive past 2:30pm but was out until 11pm driving places. Finally I rang about getting more miles and they wanted £590.00 for 2000 more miles. Don’t go with this company. Reviewed on: 20th June 2018

Worst car insurance ever , whatever you do , DO NOT GO WITH THEM. It is a scam. Firstly , my insurance has been cancelled for apparent ‘ speeding’ , cancelled with no warning, if you go the speed limit it says your speeding. Now I willl have to declare this and can’t afford insurance anymore. In the email it said the time and date that it would be cancelled however they cancelled it before this time, leaving me stranded with my car about 30 Miles from home. The top up miles are ridiculous , i spend about £250 a month on more miles , even though I did pay for my policy annually. I don’t believe the black box is accurate , it says I have done 1000 Miles in 7 days which isn’t the case ... basically whatever you do avoid this company. Just pay the extra money in the first place for some other legit decent insurance , not this wank one. Reviewed on: 7th June 2018

Disgraceful

My 19 year old daughter had insurance with More Than Smart Wheels since August 2017. At the end of August put a private plate on her car, More Than were informed, I have confirmation email if the change. Im the September she changed address, her monthly payments increased from £85 to £135 a month. On the 14/02/2018 she was hit from behind by another driver. He admitted fault so everything was simple right? WRONG! From day one we have had to argue and give the same information over and over again. Everytime we’ve made a call they denied any knowledge of an address change being made even though the policy increased almost 400 pounds! We had to arrange the courtesy car ourselves as More Than were arranging this with an Enterprise branch 60 miles away in a different town! We heard from the loss assessor on 22/02/2018 l, he informed my daughter the car was a right off, she accepted the settlement offer and was payed out within a few days. Great right? NO! We had to declare to the loss assessor weather the car had a cherished number plate, this we did, we have the email as proof. During another phone call with More Than made by myself I was told that my daughters car did not have a cherished number plate. ( huge argument) They had nothing on their system to confirm the number plate had been changed. To any normal humam being the private plate was obvious, it was my daughters name and didn’t match the year of the car for a start! My daughter was told she had to carry on paying the 135 pound a month due to her ongoing injury claim. My daughter had a phone call on 17/4/2018 from More Than asking if she was driving her car as there seemed to be a problem with the black box! My guess is they sent it to salvage with my daughters car. She had to explain what had happened, that she no longer had a car, they wrote it off! They told her she could have a 56 pound refund. Today my daughter called me 06/062019 in a panic because More Than had written to her and were cancelling her policy because there seemed to be a problem with her black box and she had ignored their attempts to contact her. That was the last straw, I got on the phone and acted like a demented lunatic! This worked! I was informed that on the 22/14/2018 they should have written and told my daughter she had 30 days to put a new vehicle on the policy or it would be cancelled. (My daughter hasn’t yet got another car) They shouldn’t have carried on taking £135 a month, last payment taken on 01/06/2018! She was given false information! She will be refunded! They are sorry for the misunderstanding! Do not insure with More Than Smart Wheels! The company is a complete unprofessional joke Reviewed on: 7th June 2018

Avoid at all costs - inconsistent scores, and despite their system recording a journey of 4.8 miles in 38 seconds they insisted that their telematics device was working perfectly - average speed of 450MPH in a mini?  The idiot "supervisor" told me that they had checked the data and it was correct - do you really want to deal with a company that incompetent ? INCORRECT SPEEDING

I have only had this insurance for 2 months so far and its already driving me insane. i have the smart wheels black box and i have noticed that it inaccurately measures my speeding. I always go below the speed limit as required but my score is always -10? I chose to ignore it but I made sure that i always go up to 25mph on a 30mph zone. It was challenging as other road users were not happy i was driving too slow. However, i received a text message from smart wheels warning me about my speed. I was entirely confused and quite annoyed because I always made sure i went below the speed. However, I still carried on driving as normal for a while until i received ANOTHER text message telling me i was speeding. I definitely knew that it wasn't me who was wrong, it was the telematics box. I phoned them up i told them about my problem I was having as i worried that my policy would get cancelled if this carries on. They looked at my records and told me that I was APPARENTLY doing 51MPH ON A 30MPH ROAD!!!! That is absolutely ridiculous and it makes no sense! i tried explaining to them that I would never in my life speed that high on a 30mph road as i always drive way below the limit. But they weren't believing me and kept insisting that the box was inaccurate and i was driving that speed. They were far from helpful and empathetic. It's really annoying as i have no valid evidence that I was driving the correct speed. They recommend that i film my speed using a camera/phone so in case i receive another text, i have valid proof i was driving below the limit. I have been filming for about a couple of weeks and it's proving to be an absolute pain. Whoever is in the passenger seat is responsible for the filming and its really hard to do especially when we have limited storage on our phones, or our devices run out of charge. We shouldn't have to do this if the box isn't faulty and doesn't inaccurately measure our speed! I can't even cancel my policy as they would not give me the full refund (less than half), or at least pay the refund of the next 10 months. This is really saddening as I have no idea what to do anymore. We just have to suffer for the next 10 months and go to another insurance provider once our contract expires. Reviewed on: 31st May 2018

Cancelled policy

My policy was cancelled as I did not send the required infomation to them in time. I could not unlock my emails so was unaware of the deadline. I asked if they could re quote me on another policy to which they would providing I sent the required documents via email to which I did imediately. Ironically they never responded to numerous emails I sent. They need to practice what they preach. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone. Reviewed on: 19th May 2018

TERRIBLE INSURANCE COMPANY

AVOID THIS CAR INSURANCE COMPANY!!! I took out a policy in October 2017 the day I passed my driving test. I am 18 years old and when I took out the policy it cost me around £70 per month which I thought was a good deal. However I was unaware that there was a restriction on my mileage which meant that last month I had to pay extra money to ensure I would still be able to use my car as it is essiential for me to get to work. This means that I now have to pay £191 per month, this is much higher rate than most other insurance companines (although if you phone up to speak with them they believe that this is a reasonable amount of money and all other insurers are charging around the same prices - which they are not), so I would advise you to look elsewhere. I have enquired about buying myself out of the policy however I was quoted that it would cost around £768, which is quite frankly impossible for me as I am 18 years old and only have a part time job as I am attending university. I would not recommend this company to anyone, it is very unreasonable and a complete rip off. Reviewed on: 15th May 2018

Awful service, awful company

I have been insured with Morethan since November from the get go, it has been awful. I was first quoted £1000 for insurance and had the refernece number. I called an hour later to be told that has expired and I need to pay £1200 instead - ok then. As a first time driver, I stupidly put in that I would drive 3000 miles a year and as I'm nearing to this number I thought I would be able to buy more miles for around £300. I WAS QUOTED £1000 for 3000 more miles - THAT'S A WHOLE NEW INSURANCE WITH ANOTHER COMPANY! When I first got through to Morethan, they stated that this amount was crazy and it should only be £80 - however they then realised I was with Smart Wheels and passed me through to their customer service, in which this price is ok? How does that work!? Charging as they go and gave me false readings on my box tracker - marking me down for usage.. makes sense! Due to USING MY CAR, I do not receive any discounts for renewal, because my score is too low. I wont be renewing and Will be cancelling my insurance 6 months EARLY as what's the point in adding on £1000 to an insurance for £1200??? Reviewed on: 10th May 2018
