Inconsistent with speed and smoothness score. BAD customer service.

I have come to the end of mt first year of driving with More than smart wheels (black box insurance) and I wish I had paid a little extra to go with a different company. 6 months in I got onto my final warning for speeding which was because I drove like everyone else. Never went at a dangerous speed but wasn't constantly looking down at my speedometer until they texted me saying if I went over the speed limit again I would have my insurance cancelled. So for 5 months the speed score on my app was perfect and I was always making sure I went under the speed limit which caused a lot of road rage against me as in my area its a 20mph limit. After almost completing the year I got a bad score on the app for speed however I knew I didn't go over the limit. So I phoned them up and got through to a nasty unprofessional woman who said I was definitely going over the speed limit. I even got her to look on google maps because she thought i was speeding in a 20mph road when actually it was a 30mph road and the signs were there to prove it but she just didn't accept it. In the end I got on the phone to a manager who actually sorted it for me and I got a complaint through to that woman. So not a pleasant experience... My policy finishes in 6 days so at least I can speed now because they have to give 7 days notice to cancel my policy for speeding :))) Reviewed on: 27th April 2018

No problems with box but the company is just a scam.

Whatever you do, don't even go with this company if you go over the miles you put down initially you will be paying in excess of £300 for 1000 miles as a top up. 33P a mile. I have never had any problems with the box, it is fairly accurate in terms of speeding and smoothness, you do lose points for driving after 11pm but thats expected. The 'average' score that is calculated from your journeys is a myth, I would love to see the algorithm that calculates that score however as I have had the majority of my journeys rated 10 yet my score still stands at 2.7 and none of my journeys drop below 5. But what is really the worst is the top up miles, I had my score at a 4.7 out of 10 (Goes from -10 to +10) and I was charged £330 for 1000 top up miles. That is beyond a joke, this is a young drivers insurance and they're expecting young drivers who aren't even on adults wages to pay 33p a mile to be able to drive there cars. I would do anything to stay away from more than and wouldn't recommend this insurance to anyone, even if another insurance is slightly more I would go for that one because of the cost of top up miles with this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

(Please excuse my English am not a native speaker) My husband and I insured our car with this AWFUL Company about 9 months ago. After getting 2 warnings for speeding they decided to cancel our policy, (even though I can swear you guys that we were not speeding at all, but it's our word against theirs) which didn't really bother us because were paying the ridiculous amount of 211 pounds EVERY MONTH. So they sent us an email letting us know that in 7 days time they were going to cancel the policy, so we decided to cancel the policy before they do. We cancelled the policy on the 8th of February and then GUESS WHAT? On the 12th they still took the monthly payment from us, 211 pounds when the policy was already cancelled. Of course we called them straight away and they told us that they were going to send us some kind of balance clarifying all the payments done, outstanding payments and cancellation fees the might have to be paid or of course if they were supposed to refund us some money. We wait for more than 3 weeks and the balance never arrived. We called them again and they said that they didn't send us the balance because there were no outstanding payments because everything was already paid, OF COURSE IT WAS PAID BECAUSE THEY STOLE US 211 pounds just because they wanted to keep collecting money from us. We asked them to send me this balance and they refuse to do it, they said that they were not able to send this balance because everything was paid and because his account department was somewhere in Asia. All we were asking for was to get the balance that they said they were going to send us and that never happen they absolutely refuse to do so. MORE THAN, if you are reading this don't even bother replying back to our review, as you guys will see the reply absolutely the same to everybody which means they don't care about offering a good service to their customers all they want is your MONEY. Avoid this company- very inconsistent

Stay off this company. I bought a home policy online and paid in full a sum of £180.74, it took 3 days before I got an email an acknowledging my payment. When I saw the policy document, the excess I selected online was £0 what I got on the document was different (£350), so I call to cancel it immediately at least 10 days before the policy starts. They promised a refund since 19th of March and up until today, they haven't refunded me my money. I have called at least 3 times to request this refund, they keep giving me 3 to 4 working days to refund the card I paid with. 1 month is almost gone and I haven't gotten my money back from them. Please stay away for your good Update: After I had written this review, I got a call from the company and my money was refunded as promised after 3 days. I am happy I got my money back. DISGUSTING FRAUDULENT COMPANY

I have been with this nasty company for almost 4 years. Every year my insurance go higher instead of reducing. My renewal is due in 18 days and I have just been told is has been increased by £500. I have never had any accident and I have never made any claims, not even breakdown. When I asked why it was being increased, the lunatic told me it has nothing to do with me, but the company just decided to increase my insurance price. How disgusting? I then told them I would like to cancel my insurance, and the idiot told me I am more than welcome to do so. Now funny enough, I went back online to get new quotes and found this useless company is offering insurance for £500 less for new customers but the oldies get to pay more. I will never get insurance from this fraudulent company and will never recommend to nobody. Reviewed on: 10th April 2018

Do not be fooled by the price, cheap yes, everything else is beyond word, companies like this should not be allowed to trade, I believe they trade under the sun alliance umbrella, so stay clear of sun alliance also. COWBOYS !! Reviewed on: 28th March 2018

Shambolic Company

I have been standing in the cold for nearly two hours having just purchased a new car. I can't change the insurance on the car to my new car on line because the website is down. I have been on hold for nearly TWO HOURS to do what every other company has seen as a relatively simple task. Twice so far I have managed to speak to someone who have both 'transferred' me back to the start of the hold process. Do not use this company!!!! Reviewed on: 17th March 2018

I had to contact them by phone to resolve a minor issue after holding on for 15min I got transferred to four different people some in UK some overseas, eventually i put in a complaint i was told they return calls in 72 hours well it's been more than a week and no one has returned my call not that i ever thought they would. Be aware they take your money but don't give you an Insurance Certificate not even an emailed one. I wish i had read the reviews before i gave them my money. Shop around and avoid this company. Total scam money grabbing off young drivers

I started my policy with more than smart wheels in April 2017 it’s now March 2018 and they cancel my policy a month before renewal due to (speeding) when I havnt! When I started the policy I had a quote but they wouldn’t let me use that quote as it was a different day even though it says retrieve your quotes, so ended up paying £968 deposit and £170.35 a month I also financed a car as I just wanted to be out on the road, this insurance company never gave me discount towards my renewal also kept saying I’ve been speeding when I havnt, I am a 21 year old with a family I can no longer get insurance elsewhere because of this company cancelling my policy without warning. They arnt helpful over the phone and as It was my 11th month of paying £170.35 to this insurance company they decide to cancel my policy on the day my payment is due!!!!!!!! They are trying to do things smart and sly so they can take my money before cancelling on me! Afew weeks ago I asked about having my black box off they said it would be an £80 change but my insurance would be void as this insurance company are based on a black box! No wonder they are ripping everyone off and cancelling people’s policys so they can’t get insured elsewhere!! This company should not be able to trade it’s a total scam to young drivers I feel like I have been completely robbed and I’m not going to let this go I am going to get my money back no matter what!! I have also contacted trading standards they told me to write a formal letter and if I don’t here nothing back to get back in touch with them an they will take it further this company needs to be shut down not only for young drivers but for everyone insured by them!!!!!! Falsely cancelled policy

I took out a car insurance policy with more than smart wheels as it was the cheapest quote at the time and at the age of 18 you want to get on the road ASAP for work travel, etc. When I first rang to start my policy they said I needed to pay £845 basically just for them to say yeah we’ll insure you and then went on to paying a further £145 a month which as an apprentice is way too much but I managed. Then after about a month and a half I received an email saying I had been speeding and they were threatening to cancel my insurance, then not even 3 months after taking my policy out with them they send me another email falsely accusing me of speeding a second time and then said they were going to cancel my insurance altogether so I rang up and asked if there was anything I could do to which they said no as it had been confirmed with some team they’ve got who apparently assess the data the telematics box emits and say whether it’s right or wrong but after reading all the reviews from other young drivers who have gone with them it’s clearly a bullshit scam to rip off young drivers, make a load of money out of them then cancel their policy so they struggle to get insurance anywhere else and end up penny less for no apparent reason. Now I have received a from them saying I owe £28.12 with no explaination as to why I owe that amount and the letter even said they’d previously asked me for the amount when I’ve only even heard about it once on the “second” letter they had sent me regarding this payment. I rang up about it and they said if I don’t then it will affect my credit rating or some random crap they thought of at the time so I put in a complaint about it. 2 days later I got a phone call from them about this money I apparently owe and they said they’re willing to drop it if I remove my complaint however if I change my mind I can complain about it again in the next 6 months. Basically them admitting they were wrong to try and charge me this money and saying they’d write it off so they didn’t have to deal with the complaint. Everything they do and say it fake, stay away from these people, all they want is your money and to rip you off, as shown by WatchDog they are a con artists who’s black boxes show fake data which they use to penalise young drivers. STAY AWAY FROM MORE THAN! It’s a massive scam for any young driver! Reviewed on: 15th February 2018
