Review of the Post Office, Car insurance:

Terrible experience all round.

1
Terrible experience all round. My husband renewed insurance only for them to cancel it and take money from our account. No reason given by customer service for this. Worse ever service. Don't call back have to wait up to eight weeks to get it resolved even though clearly mistake their side. Worst company I've ever been with with and I have been driving for a long time and have maximum no claims. DONT GO WITH, MUCH BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE. Reviewed on: 30th December 2024

AN ABYSMAL SERVICE

1
I thought that the +50 offer looked like a good scheme so made an application on-line and was accepted, paid a years premium, documents duly arrived by post and then two or three days before the policy was due to start I received a letter informing me that the policy had been cancelled. The reason given was that the Claims Underwriting Exchange (CUE) had belatedly identified two accidents that had taken place in the last five years that had not been declared by me. The first was on 01 August 2013 which I admittedly overlooked. The second was in May this year when a visitor bumped my vehicle when it was parked in my drive. I was in fact in bed. The third party admitted liability and his insurance company paid for repair. I had made no claim. CUE, however, had identified me as the driver and of being at fault. To try to sort this out with customer services became a nightmare, it took ages to get through in the first place and then often the line went dead before I could speak to anybody. In the end I realised that I was flogging a dead horse and went back to my original insurer. All this, when a quick call from PO Customer Services could have sorted these anomalies. I then discovered that there is no address to which you can send a letter of complaint: it all has to handled by CS. If there was a minus five star rating that would be my selection. I too will be contacting the Car Insurance Ombudsman. Reviewed on: 22nd July 2018

I will never use them again!

1
Got my first car in January 2018 from a dealership. After a month this car completely broke and I had to give it back. I got a Toyota Aygo instead which should of been much cheaper to insure than my first car. I had two options: Cancel my insurance and pay stupid feed and lose a month worth of insurance (£140)!!!! or stay with post office because I would of lost my no claims. The post office made my insurance so much more expensive than it should be! I should be paying no more than £80 for a little Toyota Aygo and they're charging me £140 a month! The Post Office is stealing money from people in the day light! Few more months and I'll be able to finish my year insurance and NEVER use them again! Would not recommend! Very rude staff too. The most appalling insurance i have ever experienced

1
I have been driving for over 20 years and this is the most appalling car insurance i have ever experienced. I had an accident in January 2018 whereby another driver drove into me whilst stationery the third party wrote to me two days later to admit full liability Five months down the line post office insurance has still not updated the database to say this is a none fault accident resulting in my claim being counted as my fault by insurance companies. (one o f their excuses was that they did not receive payment from third party however the third party insurance company has been exceptional an only did not pay because post office had not sent them details of the amount owing. This has resulted in my having to pay 400 pounds to post office for insurance on the car from february to october (the car is no longer existent from february) and because they have not updated the car insurance database that this is a none fault accident my insurance has gone up on my new car from 500 pounds to 1000 i have rung this company on average once a week from february to June with an average time on phone of 40 mins and they still have not sorted it. I am now going to have to take this to financial ombudsman. Avoid them like the plague Reviewed on: 22nd June 2018

Not insurance just heart ache.

1
Don't waste your money no customer service they just pass the buck, the people on the phones just seem to look up a list of replays and pick one.nobody takes responsibility. The legal team I was given was minster law to call them cowboys is derogatory to cowboys. Total useless lie telling wide boys. Please don't waste your time and money if you do your be sorry. I'm off to take some advice from a proper insurance company. And the ombudsman can deal with minster law. There should be a law to stop clowns posing as solicitor's and insurance brokers. Shocking service and dealing with claim

1
Don't be fooled like me and use Post Office. When you need them most... which is when you are needing to make a claim they are beyond shocking. Seriously I can't describe how bad the service is and leaves you frustrated and even more stressed at a time when you don't need any more stress. It seems that the post office are just a broker like many other companies, but they also outsource the call centres and now use Enterprise Rent a Car to manage your claim! I've had to spend hours now on the phone trying to get someone to help me with my claim and all they do is say that they are a broker and I have to deal with Axa. Seriously don't make the same mistake as me and think that Post Office is an ethical company and your insurance is safe with them. It isn't. And their set-up for customer services response is so poor. Will never use them or any of the post office services again. Reviewed on: 4th April 2018
