Review of the Post Office, Credit Card:

Useless, unhelpful, inept and rude

Well, these cards are now provided by Bank of Ireland (another useless credit card company). I fully paid off my card, and then cancelled it. However, the operative I spoke with to cancel the card, didn't, and A YEAR LATER an automatic payment which I forgot about (now I take the blame for that) was taken off the card. I had moved house 3 times by this point (4 years later) so none of the letters came through to me. PO and BoI did nothing to help me, just wrote back saying they were every so sorry, and hope that I'm not upset by how it has worked out. BUT THEN they instantly sold this debt to another debt collection agency. Agressive greedy buggers, stay away from post office cc and from bank of ireland Reviewed on: 6th August 2020

Not talking direct debit

I assumed when i set up a direct debit that the money would be taken regularly every month regardless. I was surprised to find my balance was not going down as I had paid extra, over & above my direct debit to pay card off. I realised they were not taking my direct debit, when I questioned this the adviser said if you pay any thing off your account your direct debit is canceled out. What a good way to encourage people to get into debt! The customer adviser was very curt, offhand and not helpful at all. I will be getting rid of this card ASAP & will never use them again. Good Service

Unhelpful, stressful, worst card ever

I have had nothing but problems with this card and the customer service staff just can't be bothered to help. My balance transfer has had interest added, on several occasions, and it has been used abroad when I have been in the UK. Every time I call, the answer I receive is "I'll raise a complaint" which takes 8 weeks to respond to . Don't use this card provider!! Reviewed on: 29th May 2019

Appalling service do not use!

Dreadful. They repeatedly failed to set up a direct debit thus taking me and I am sure millions of customers out of their 0% ,thus incurring massive sums of money in interest for themselves all from their own errors! When I paid the card off they lied and said they had not received the money, so I sent it again. Then they refused to return my money to where it came from and sent a cheque in the post!!! STAY AWAY. ONE MONTH LATER AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE MONEY! Reviewed on: 22nd May 2019

Charged over £300 and did not even tell me

I had paid my Credit card of post office in full and had no charges afterwards left or any remaining amounts. I moved houses and i had forgotten that i had post office card, two weeks ago I received messages from Debt Manager Services saying i need to ring them due to a outstanding amount. Post office money charged me £331.72 for £20-£30 AA cover that was renewed automatically which i wasnt aware of. Explained to both debt manager and post office money, no one cared in post office, the debt manager service were helpful people and did not in any way or form try to hide anything. Never ever ever i will use this piece of sh*t credit card company in my life. Bunch of morons operating this, not one call from these scums about the this case, only debt managers phoned. The Most Incompetent Customer Service Ever..

Post Office credit card department issued a second card with a new pin number, changed my home address and all this without my knowledge. When I tried to get access into my account I was blocked and when I called to find out what was the problem, they have asked me one million securities questions. When I asked them for an explanation on how the fraudster managed to pass all the sensitive security questions no one could give me an answer. For three weeks I was awaiting a letter or something, they promised to issue a new card on three different occasions (still waiting). They are the worst of the worst … my personal recommendation is to avoid them …. I have closed my account since then. Reviewed on: 29th March 2019

One query at one time

I have two credit cards with Post Office. I had a query so called the customer service team. A guy called Andrew dealt with one query and when I asked him to look at the second credit card he said I have to call again as he can only deal with one query at one time. Joke! I’m going to use that trick at work tomorrow and see what my boss has to say about this. Reviewed on: 13th March 2019

Terrible customer service

What can I say, absolutely terrible service. The telephone handler just don't care. Not will to help in anyway. Been with post office for over 5 years. Alway paid on time and have been a great customer. Unfortunately not the same on there half. No flexibility at all, just keep to the script. Please do not use post office card if you want standard or below standard customer service, because they only do useless customer service. If you can live with that then give them a try. dreadful experience

Waiting an hour on the phone. website instructions very confusing. transfers to other departments take forever. lots of long holds.....takes hours to do something simple. a very regretful experience.... Reviewed on: 26th January 2019

Awful - just awful.

I've had a PO credit card for some years and it has never been over limit. But for a while now - my balance has been INCREASING despite making the regular (albeit minimum payment) monthly payments. So not one single penny of my monthly payments now are going towards reducing the balance. Yes - had letters to ask me to increase my monthly payments - but no warnings to say that interest will be increased if I don't. So today - I paid the card off and issued a complaint. My advice - DON'T EVER use this card. It is a total rip-off - and if you read this Post Office - you ought to be ashamed of your squeeze on ordinary folk to force them to pay more than the minimum payment every month. How can you justify increasing the balance owed every month when I am making regular monthly payments ?? This 'unsustainable borrowing' that you refer to - is utter nonsense. I haven't used the credit card for almost a year so I have spent NOTHING on it. But I will never again touch a Post Office credit card and neither will any of my family or friends.
