The ultra credit card is giving me 1% back on all my...

The ultra credit card is giving me 1% back on all my spending for the first year. It will be a nice lump sum to pay off the debt next year. The card also has an attractive design and works through the Halifax app or the Lloyds app. I wasn’t clear on how to get the cash back balance but understand it will be applied to the credit balance after one year of spending on the card. Lloyds credit card is unusable

I am fortunate in that I have never been out of work or had any financial problems, and have an excellent credit history. That is not good enough for Lloyds whose automated security algorithms have twice stopped me from buying something with my Lloyds so-called 'Ultra' credit card, and then blocked the card. This is despite using 2 factor authentication and the items taking my balance to less than my credit limit. This is extremely annoying and inconvenient, particularly when they don't bother to inform of what they have done and the card doesn't work when you next come to use it! I had to call THEM in order to unblock the card. This was even after I had called them the day before to inform them that I was about to make a purchase of several thousand pounds. They say they are protecting me from fraud (non- existent in this case) when in actual fact they are only protecting themselves. In most cases of fraud customers are refunded. Lloyds Bank does everything right

Lloyds Bank makes it easy to set up and modify overdraft options, features a sleek and easy to read layout, and allows you to see your scheduled\upcoking payments, as well as makes it clear where money is going to. Lloyds is also very good with spotting fraudulent charges and scam websites, and their payment verification process is secure yet simple. Reviewed on: 6th April 2026

Lloyds Ultra Credit Card

Introduced last year and is an excellent product offering with an attractive 1% cash back for the first 12 months including transactions abroad with no currency exchange fees. The only niggle is the need for better communication from the bank with larger value transactions, which they view as suspicious, causing unnecessary delays with your purchase ; need a smarter way to allow you to verify such transactions before rejecting outright without compromising safety !
