Excellent customer service

I have been with Santander since it took over the Abbey, at first I was apprehensive as Abbey had been a great bank to be with but my fears were unfounded. I had moved to the abbey from another bank with poor service but both them and eventually Santander have been absolutely fantastic. They have contacted me about unusual activity on my account and once I'd rung them back on a number I had they have sorted the issues out very quickly and without penalty to me. I would never move from Santander, their online banking is fantastic with all my accounts accessible from one place. The security measures are great too. I would thoroughly recomend them to everyone. Online banking and security excellent

I've found online banking with this account incredibly easy. Setting up and managing one-off payments, direct debits and standing orders is very quick, as was increasing my overdraft. I also like the fact that Santander will temporarily hold any suspicious (or new) large payments until they've called you to verify they're legitimate. It's an automated voice service but again it's very clear and intuitive. Reviewed on: 10th August 2015

santander are fine...until you actually want something

I've banked with Santander for years, but fact is, I only still do so since I can't be doing with the hassle of changing. They're a safe bank for my money and are fine with an easy to use current account. If you want anything at all - even something as simple as changing a few details - you may as well be asking for the impossible. They are generally unfriendly and inflexible. They have very friendly and knowledgable staff in every branch

I recently went into a Santander branch which I had not previously visited, with the intention of finding out why a certain payment had been refused on my account. I had received a text message to alert me to possible fraudulent activity on my account. The lady on the information counter was very friendly and polite and pointed me in the direction of one of their internal telephones which I was told to use, in the hope I could resolve the matter. I managed to get through straight away and the matter was solved within about 10 minutes. Needless to say, I was very happy with the standard of service I received that day. They didn't want my money!

Easy online banking

Easy to manage multiple online savings accounts attached to one main current account. Only downside is not being able to see pending transactions but at least their banking system doesn't crash unlike competitors. Reviewed on: 20th April 2015

Not bad customer service, but can be a lot better

Santander's customer experience was good; however the bank still needs improvement. Customer Service is not 24/7 and that means that if you lost your debit card in the middle of the night, there is no way to report it missing until the next day. I lost my wallet on the way home on the bus and wanted to cancel the card before someone find it and use the card; however, I was not able to do so until the next morning. Santander will also send the pin to your new debit card via mail instead of allowing you to set this in person at the bank or keep the same pin. Reviewed on: 13th April 2015

I have been with santander for 23 years. They are a good bank which offers a variety of services. I love banking with them because I love how easy it is to access things like online banking and how easy it is to talk to someone about anythin I'm unsure about. santander has been my bank for a solid three years now i have a 123 current account the points i would like to make consist of; the account costs me £2.50 a month which isnt alot however i make profit from this because i get cash back on various things such as my electricity bill and i make around £3.40 a month which granted is not alot but better than a kick in the teeth right? the second point i wish to make is that i struggled with their online banking to start with but i just went into my local high street branch and they helped me with everything i needed.
