Santander employee acting like a fraudster

A person recently phoned me, who claimed to be Santander employee and asked me to state my Date of Birth "to pass security". At that point I had no way of knowing, whether this really was a Santander employee calling me, or a fraudster fishing for my personal information. Guess my surprise, when a few weeks later, I learned that this really was a genuine Santander employee !? I complained to Santander about this practice, but they have the audacity to defend their practice, and do not want to change their security policy. This sets a dangerous precedent. If Santander acts in a way, that customers can not distinguish a genuine Santander employee from a fraudster, this is exactly what the fraudsters want, because it helps them to clear out people's bank accounts. Absolute joke of a bank

Spent 11 hours on the phone in a week trying to get a payment cleared. They are unable to provide information, unable to provide updates, typical scousers for staff and very uneducated with no ownership of issues. Horrible company to deal with. Good account low cost.

After a year free I've just started paying £7.50 a month for business banking. Service is good, a little annoying you can't use the counter in branch but if I ever get stuck with machine or it isn't working staff are happy to help. Reviewed on: 4th February 2018

simple, effective, accessible

The kings of contradiction!

The kings of contradiction! Having been a loyal business customer of Santander for several years, I was unfortunately the victim of a scammer, involving the use of bank transfer to make payment, it is a rather long story, but it involved many calls back and forth to Santander, along with lines such as "The security team do not wish to speak to you" "We will call you back later today" (and never did) "We will call you to tell you the outcome of reclaiming the funds" - They sent a letter instead 3 days later. After all that, my money was gone. I have complained several times, and this has fell on deaf ears, constantly - I was even sent a letter by one of their customer service team, inviting a response back from me for any further information, I sent the letter, and had no reply! Not even an acknowledgement, a month later I re-sent the letter, again, no response, no acknowledgement, this is a financial institution ignoring customers. Their social media team is also full of lip service, say one thing, do another. The disappointment I have with this bank is an understatement, and I will be looking to move away from Santander as soon as possible. If anyone of their Representatives ever reads this, make sure you actually do what you say you will do, rather than say one thing and do another, this is peoples lives you are messing with. LOcked out

Four times now I have been locked out of my business account apparently due to incorrect input of my log in details even though I check them 3 times before I input them because of frequent lock outs, I can't even pass the security questions over the phone with all by bank statements in front of me ..!! Santander makes me furious.. . It takes a week to reset the account to get back in which in this age is just pathetic .. . . stay away from Santander they suck Reviewed on: 3rd September 2017
