The kings of contradiction!

The kings of contradiction! Having been a loyal business customer of Santander for several years, I was unfortunately the victim of a scammer, involving the use of bank transfer to make payment, it is a rather long story, but it involved many calls back and forth to Santander, along with lines such as "The security team do not wish to speak to you" "We will call you back later today" (and never did) "We will call you to tell you the outcome of reclaiming the funds" - They sent a letter instead 3 days later. After all that, my money was gone. I have complained several times, and this has fell on deaf ears, constantly - I was even sent a letter by one of their customer service team, inviting a response back from me for any further information, I sent the letter, and had no reply! Not even an acknowledgement, a month later I re-sent the letter, again, no response, no acknowledgement, this is a financial institution ignoring customers. Their social media team is also full of lip service, say one thing, do another. The disappointment I have with this bank is an understatement, and I will be looking to move away from Santander as soon as possible. If anyone of their Representatives ever reads this, make sure you actually do what you say you will do, rather than say one thing and do another, this is peoples lives you are messing with. LOcked out

Four times now I have been locked out of my business account apparently due to incorrect input of my log in details even though I check them 3 times before I input them because of frequent lock outs, I can't even pass the security questions over the phone with all by bank statements in front of me ..!! Santander makes me furious.. . It takes a week to reset the account to get back in which in this age is just pathetic .. . . stay away from Santander they suck Reviewed on: 3rd September 2017

Neglect

We are just trying to open a new account in order to have a better service and I made a mistake to call Santander, I was treated with regardless just as a number "one more" it is quite frustrating to think that a bank as Santander actually treats people/prospective new business with this negligence. Very helpful and totally professional.

I went to the Blackburn branch this morning re a Banker's Draft. The gentleman at the desk was extremely helpful and directed me one of his colleagues. The lady was very helpful and did her best to solve my problem. In the past, I've had an odd not so good experience but today, the way I was treated and the dedication displayed by the team was sheer professionalism. Reviewed on: 21st March 2017

Unhappy with being told I cannot pay in over the counter

I have a business account which I pay £12 per month to have and recently was told I am not allowed to pay in my cash over the counter from now and have to pay it in the cash machines , I'm annoyed as it more often than not takes a while or eats the notes and then a staff member has to be called to sort it or open the machine . I asked how I can pay coins in and their answer was pay in at the post office . I also have a 123 account along with a credit card . I would like to know what I'm being charged £12 a month for if they are not giving me s service . I'm definitely going to leave and open accounts at another bank . A good change!

Went in to open a current account, came out with an account and an appointment to talk about our business account! They have an account manager at my local bank, can contact her with any problems/questions we might have, we were kept in the loop about everything while changing our bank. All staff have been very helpful and couldn't be more pleased with the service we have received! Reviewed on: 2nd January 2017

Great for small businesses

Really good for small businesses - zero bank charges as long as you don't need to write / lodge a lot of paper cheques. I run two businesses and both use these - never had any problems. Reviewed on: 17th November 2016

Pathetic and antiquated

Today I told Santander to cancel my business account application for a multitude of reasons, but here are the main points: *Told online application takes 3 business days *Applied on the 31st July online. Was emailed 4th August requesting more identification but this all had to be by post. *Also needed a cheque from my bank account to the business bank account. Haven't had a cheque book for 13 years, additional delay in ordering one. *Send documents away 23rd August *Hear nothing. *Phone on the 13th September - informed their service levels have slipped and it will be 15 working days *Hear Nothing *Phone on the 26th September, told there is still a queue and I'll recieve an email soon. *Receive email on 28th September telling me one of my of my documents can't be accepted due to the spelling of my first name, and the other isn't acceptable but no reason is given. *Tell them to cancel and stick it. Honestly, a waste of two months. Also, when I phoned for progress reports, I was often told everyone was too busy so I should call back later. No hassle!

I have a business account with Santander which I use most days. They have been very supportive over the years and the staff in the bank and so helpful and understanding. I have an overdraft which doesn't coast a fortune and I can manage my account on line with no hassle. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016
