I have been with this bank for over 40 years, I joined it as Williams & Glynns, I have honestly never had a problem, they have always been helpful and any issues have been quickly resolved. I opened a business account with them 2 years back and it has been seamless working between my current accounts etc. I have only one issue, they are asking us to move bank as the Government are forcing them to shed people, due to having a monopoly of business customers. The problem is, the banks recommended are reviewed as very poor, so I'm a bit worried to move. I am very happy with my experience over the past 40 years, I think they are very good

Had a very bad experience involving my business account with staff in branch and over the phone not able to give me meaningful and helpful advice as a result the whole process was complicated and could of been easier if staff members had taken me through the process on my first point of contact. Very happy I no longer hold an account with RBS and would never go back.

What a joke
Very keen to lend to anyone on anything especially buy to let property in the good old days
BUT when the gouging gets tough,they run a mile,and as for support,what a joke,I have been banking with this lot for over 14 years 9 of which I have never seen or heard from my so called business manager
Get rid of the lot,bring on the crowd funding and peer to peer guys
And let's hope the really good old banking days are well and trolley over for this lot

I have opened two business accounts with RBS this year and they have both gone very smoothly. My Business Account manager even came and met me at my work to ensure all the paperwork was completed. I have been with RNS for over 20yrs and have to say I have never had any major issues, the little one's I have had they have addressed super quick - the test of a good company is when something goes wrong and how they handle it. I've been quite impressed with RBS over the years.

Only just opened

I have only just opened my account. The customer service is good but it has been quite complex to access online banking. I definitely think that the process of opening an account can be improved.

Failed to help a thriving business with cashflow issues

They should better understand our needs. Our business has grown year-on-year but we found ourselves with short-term cashflow issues which they did little to help us out with.

After an extremely slow onboarding process (it took a number of weeks, I did not hear back within the timeframe communicated and I had to chase the call centre to ensure it was processed), the overall experience has been good. I like the online banking portal (apart from a number of months where it made you sign in twice??), and I have not come across any scenarios where I have had to ring the call centre. I would prefer it if the debit card was contactless though. Overall satisfactory experience.
