A return to the fat cat old days????

9 months into my car policy and thought about buying a much smaller cheaper car to run (Fiat Panda) than my current car (Vauxhall Omega). My premium was going to jump £154 for the remaining quarter despite the Panda being in group 3 and the Omega in group 22. I won't bother to try to understand Reviewed on: 9th September 2016

Unexpectedly charging

I cancelled my insurance long time ago and they are still charging me plus ruining my credit history. And customer service is absolutely terrible they should go back to drawing board and start it from beginning. Before u do insurance with tesco company please do think once again ! Awful service. AVOID

Young driver(20). Changed vehicle on policy and was told I had 14 days to have telematics refitted to new car which was fine. They text me appointments that they had for an engineer to be available in my area to fit my box (17th Aug). The text instructed me to text 'YES' if convenient or ignore if not and they will be in touch, to which I replied with 'YES'. To no avail, thought there must have been some kind of mixup & then received a text the following day of the same nature but with a new date (22 Aug). This was not convinient so I ignored as advised to & ' we will be in touch shortly' . YES TO CANCEL MY POLICY!! email to confirm cancellation, when I rang and brought the issue to their attention they said it was my fault for failing to contact them & also told me they had sent various correspondence which I had not received, absolutely no way of reversing the cancellation. When asked why they hadn't showed on the first appointment I was told nothing I can say is going to change matters. Now finding it extremely difficult to find a new insurer due to having to declare cancellation ! Nightmare , advise all young & experienced drivers to steer clear & not be drawn in by the affordable prices as you clearly are getting what you pay for! Unexpectedly charging

Totally scrap

Choose a tesco car insurance, as was cheapest for my car offered. Problem started when reneval quote arrives-they wanted to charge me the same amount which I was paying during last year. Called to them and all what they can offer was Tesco voucher for 50pounds (doesn't matter their insurance was total 300pounds more expensive per annum). After I reported I've sold (3 weeks before policy end)the car, they noticed me 2(!) day before old policy was end I still need to pay them full monthly payment, regardless I've reported I have got no insured car! Yearly raising premiums!!!!

Disgraceful

Son had text today to say he had no insurance because of a discrepancy on premiums system my sons insurance wasnt taken even tho money was in bank..now tesco are saying its cancelled no matter whats said hes now 2 months into passing his test and having first car insurance and working damn hard to get deposit...hes back to where he started...i think its absolutley appaling...hope nobody else goes through this crap. Poor Customer Service and incompetance (black box)

19 year old male, first car and insurance. 8 months into policy he decides he is changing his car - a very simple process to just change the details and pay the difference. Wrong! We were told that he needed to pay off the remainder of this year insurance and then change it to the new car at the rate of 900/month. Checked on a compare site, the cheapest for his new car was 1300 and Tesco were around 2400 - not around 10k for a car which is worth less than 1000. After another call to cancel and pay the remainder of the yearly insurance, I was told that he could have the insurance for the remainder of his policy (approx. 4 months) at 20 a month more than he was currently paying. I am sorry but this is just wrong as the first person would not admit that there was something wrong with her info and was adamant that is what his car would cost. Her words "you need to call us before you buy a car and seek permission to change your policy". Reviewed on: 7th August 2016
