Sharks or Incompetent staff, either way we have being shafted

Ever felt like you have being shafted as that’s exactly how I feel, because we have for 1 months direct debit. Rang to cancel my car insurance renewal today. We have made 12 monthly payments already. Unfortunately our 13th payment came out Nov 1st 2021 (today) and the actual car insurance expires Nov 7th 2021 which we have already made the 12 monthly payments on, as you never pay for car insurance retrospectively. So I asked if we can have todays direct debit back as we have already made the 12 payments for the 1st year and it was just unfortunate that the 13th payment which covers the first month of the new year that I am cancelling came out today. No matter which way I described it to the person at Tesco Finance, he simply could not grasp or did not want to grasp, that this 13th payment is for the next 12 months renewal which I am cancelling. In the end I gave up frustrated as this individual (being diplomatic) simply could not grasp simple multiplication. They need to employee call centre staff who can do simple mathematic calculations. As they refuse to reimburse this 13th payment. I wont be using or recommending them, quite the opposite. Reviewed on: 1st November 2021

Don’t waste your money on it

So the black box of course checks for many things, and in mine it reviews me as good for everything bar speed, even though I am keeping to the speed limits 99% of the time, but have now found out that even if your below the speed limit it can still have you as going too fast if the roads aren’t the best in their view. But also the miles you get is just too much of an issue, as how much they charge if you go past the contracts limit just takes the mick! As I certainly won’t be using them again, and would strongly suggest not using them, especially if you have a black box as part of the deal Reviewed on: 30th January 2024

Do Not use Tesco Car Insurance.

After taking out Tesco car insurance including the discount they offered for Club card Prices, I was amazed to find a week later that I had not been awarded any club card points for my transaction. Thinking there had to be a mistake here as surely they could not use the slogan of club card price reduction if club card points did not accompany? After making a formal complaint I received an absolute pitiful response from Tesco stating that this was actually correct as Tesco Bank was an actual different company to Tesco!! Absolutely pathetic as I have been a Tesco credit card holder for over 20 years accumulating many club card points following on from my credit card spend. I am writing this review as a public service statement to advise anyone who reads not to take out Tesco Car Insurance. From a customer care stance I would only think it right to inform any potential customer that no club card points will be earned for taking out Tesco Car Insurance. Reviewed on: 18th January 2024

DO NOT USE STAY AWAY!!

Overall the worst customer experience I have ever received!! My car was stolen 10 weeks ago police recovered it within 24 hours and had the car for two weeks, Tesco have had my car for 8 weeks and have failed to sort my claim out to date. I have had to phone up multiple times every week and I'm constantly told the customer service agent will phone me back and I have never had a call back. I have been told my car will be scrapped and then they change their minds and say it will be repaired. When I have called for updates I was told on two occasions they don't know where my car is and have lost it, the repair garage have called me twice to collect it from my home because they have been informed it is here which it isn't. I have escalated my case to the claims manager hoping to get somewhere and all he said was I have to wait, the whole experience just felt like I didn't matter and the manager didn't care just wanted me off the phone and now to top off this already unacceptable and disgusting service I spoke with the repair garage this week who have told me Tesco closed my case 5 weeks ago. I am still none the wiser of when my cat will be repaired and if I will get my curtesy car which I'm entitled to. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS INSURANCE COMPANY THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!! Reviewed on: 12th January 2024

Service is so unsensitive and so rude I don’t even know where to begin with how rude the last person I dealt with was! They don’t pay out and make you have to go through ombudsman to get market value. Avoid I’m out of pocket about 3k :’( Reviewed on: 23rd December 2023

Awful Customer Service

Be warned if contemplating taking out Tesco Car Insurance - We are new dealing with the ombudsman and making an official complaint to head office. Shannon on the customer service line needs further training before being allowed to interact with customers. Rude, Incompetent, Argumentative and very unprofessional. Shame on you Shannon your unprofessional behaviour towards an Autistic, Mental Health sufferer is absolutely dispicable and this has been escalated to someone well beyond your paygrade you jumped up little madam. £40 cancelation fee

I never had to deal with them until I sold my car. Their phone lines does everything they can to get you to hang up, saying they are busy, to do things online, waffeling on about irrelavent stuff. To cancel the policy, i.e. for them to click 1 button and do nothing, costs £40.....ahahaha...never again Tesco. Reviewed on: 12th December 2023

Hopeless customer service and frustrating policy set up process - do not touch with a barge pole

I decided to move to Tesco car insurance following many years with a previous insurer. I applied for the insurance. A week later they sent an email asking me to upload my No Claims Discount. When I logged on, there was no option to upload. I called customer service repeatedly for several days. When I finally got through, they asked me to send my NCD proof via email. I did so immediately. Then no response for several days. I sent reminders. No response. I finally lodged a complaint. They got back to me to say I needed to show the date on my NCD proof, and since more time had passed, the policy was cancelled. But it was cancelled because they sat on it for days and customer service refused to respond! And they are going to charge me a high fee for the few days that I was temporarily insured, it seems. Expensive insurance

For no reason at all. No claims or anything my tesco car insurance has increased £110 from last year. Have been with them a few years now. Never made a claim. Obviously they don't value long term customers.. Looked at other insurance companies and can get a better cover for £100 less.. Bye bye tesco Reviewed on: 24th November 2023
