Hopeless customer service and frustrating policy set up process - do not touch with a barge pole

I decided to move to Tesco car insurance following many years with a previous insurer. I applied for the insurance. A week later they sent an email asking me to upload my No Claims Discount. When I logged on, there was no option to upload. I called customer service repeatedly for several days. When I finally got through, they asked me to send my NCD proof via email. I did so immediately. Then no response for several days. I sent reminders. No response. I finally lodged a complaint. They got back to me to say I needed to show the date on my NCD proof, and since more time had passed, the policy was cancelled. But it was cancelled because they sat on it for days and customer service refused to respond! And they are going to charge me a high fee for the few days that I was temporarily insured, it seems. Very very poor all around - I cannot recommend them to anyone! Reviewed on: 11th December 2023
