Took an extra 60% off me above what was quoted

1
On the 4th November, I got a price to transfer my tesco car insurance from my old car to my new one: £106.22 The person I spoke to said the quote would be saved on their system, so on the day of transfer (1 week later, Saturday 11th November), all I needed to do was give my policy details and the switch would be simple. I purchased the car as planned and when I phoned through, they said they had no record of a call and then they bumped the transfer price up from £106 to £167!!! They left me stuck in a situation where I had no choice but to give in to a 60% increase. I complained but they reiterated that they (conveniently) could find no record of offering me that quote and therefore, case closed. NEVER AGAIN! Reviewed on: 12th November 2023

Great customer service

Just a thanks to the 2 lovely guys I spoke to on the phone over the past 3 days trying to renew my insurance policy. They’re names were Chris and Scott, I spoke to them both separately over the 3 days and both were so helpful and willing to put themself out in order to sort the problem of my cards not working for renewing my insurance. Their manners and customer service are awesome and can’t thank them enough as I was very stressed. Thank you to them again! Reviewed on: 11th November 2023

Value for money

Chose Tesco car and home insurance about 5 years ago. This year is the only year my car insurance had increased. And only by about £30 per annum. Excellent value for money Reviewed on: 10th November 2023

Cheating scumbag company

1
Despite not seeing nor having any description of the condition of the vehicle, they told my daughter than it was a write-off, so that they didn’t have to give her a courtesy car, under their terms and conditions. They then left two young females in the cold and dark, for two hours, waiting for the recovery vehicle. Despicable behaviour Reviewed on: 7th November 2023

Would give 0 stars if possible

1
Really bad car insurance, everyone that i know that has got a quote has had their car insurance cancelled for daft reasons, like mine were i paid for the car but my mums names on logbook which they already knew my mums the registered keeper dumb pricks Reviewed on: 6th November 2023

Always received excellent service

My car was recently written off. The first staff member filled up the claim form with me over the phone which saved me much hassle. Then I made a follow-up phone call a few days later and got a reasonable settlement immediately.. Prior to that I had had a collision where the other party refused to accept responsibility though it was obvious they were. On my behalf Tesco took this to court and we won. I have always found the staff very efficient and helpful. So long as their premiums don’t rocket I would choose to stay with them and recommend the company to others. Reviewed on: 1st November 2023

Slow customer services, leave you hanging

1
Car was flooded in a car park when the River Thames burst its banks. Tesco pass you to a firm called FMG who then say they are allocating a garage to collect the car for repair but won't give any sort of timescale and, of course, you do not get a courtesy car until they collect. So this will leave you without transport for an unspecified length of time. FMG might turn up tomorrow, or 3 weeks time and you won't get a courtesy car until then. This is direct opposite of convenient. How can you plan work, trips to collect people from stations, airports, drop children at scouts, visiting relatives in hospital if you have no idea when the courtesy car will be available? If you call FMG they tell you to call Tesco and if you call Tesco they tell you to call FMG. And despite the size of the car you insured with them you will get a 1 litre tiny little car like a Yaris. Car insurance.....awful

1
Got large crack in windscreen, need a new one. Contacted tesco car insurance & was advised I needed to drive it to nearest branch (40 min drive away!!) & they can't replace it for another 2 weeks! When I asked is it safe to drive, the answer I got was it won't shatter onto you, its safety glass!! I replied 'yes, but I won't be able to see'!!! Reviewed on: 31st October 2023

Bad Service

1
Tesco Bank I would not be recommending. Very bad service received-slap dash attitude from customer service representative. Reviewed on: 24th October 2023

Don't do it to yourself

1
It's really not worth the time hassle and money. The amount hassle I went through to prove my address even though all document were aligned with the same address they had. They deemed it as no proof of address. Honestly tesco, stick to the groceries and leave the insurance and other bits alone Reviewed on: 19th October 2023
