Had insurance turned down because of a ‘ lost in translation’ moment…. via owner— to vets —to insurers. customer service when I complained and disputed this was nothing short of exceptional. Lovely very understanding people , it was a pleasure to chat to . I had decided I would write this review no matter what the outcome. Uncaring horrible company. AVOID!

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Theyll take your money and do everything possible not to pay a claim. We put in a genuine claim and were made to feel like criminals, they called us dishonest and fraudulent. Then on 7th Nov they said they'd cancelled our policy from 5th Sept and we would not get a refund for the previous 2 months. Do yourself a favour and insure with someone else, don't give these criminals your money. Terrible, disgusting company. You've been warned Reviewed on: 7th November 2023

PET INSURERS THAT CARE

I’ve used Tesco bank to insure my cat since I’ve had him but had never made a claim. He became poorly & I made several trips to the vet. He had a small procedure at the vet followed by an operation at a specialist animal hospital. I updated Tesco each time and they were very quick to pay out. My cat needed a follow up op which Tesco authorised but my cat unfortunately died before op day. Tesco paid for his final cremation. They cancelled my insurance & even repaid part of that month’s insurance that I’d already paid by d/d. A week later they also sent me a beautiful condolences letter. THANK YOU TESCO FOR GOING ABOVE & BEYOND! I will definitely be insuring my next pet with you. ❤️ Reviewed on: 21st October 2023

Brilliant when cat was ill

Outstanding Pet Insurance Experience!

I can't say enough good things about the pet insurance provided by Tesco Bank! From the moment I enrolled my furry friend, I knew I had made the right choice. The coverage options are comprehensive, ensuring that my pet receives the best care possible without any financial worries on my end. What truly sets Tesco Bank apart is their exceptional customer service. Whenever I've had a question or needed assistance, their team has been there to provide prompt and friendly support. It's clear that they genuinely care about the well-being of both the pets and their owners. I have been lucky that I have not had to make any claims so far. But the process looks straightforward, should I need to in future. I also appreciate the flexibility in choosing my preferred vet, giving me peace of mind that my pet will receive care from a trusted professional. The pricing is reasonable for the level of coverage provided, and I appreciate the transparency in their terms and conditions. Disappointing, Shocking Mismanagement

So disappointed and distressed by apparent "delaying tactics" in paying our first claim for Mollie dog who has been insured with TESCO several years and had NO previous claims. So unwell after surgery, we were afraid we would lose our darling Mollie, but were grateful that after 2 weeks she was discharged from the vets and we finally had her home. I paid the FIRST bill of £4,203.52 on my credit card. On 18.06.2023 I confidently made the claim on Mollie's insurance as our first dog had also been insured with TESCO and a much larger claim was dealt with efficiently AND promptly. The vet centre completed and forwarded the claim form to TESCO P. Ins on 22.06.23. I received an email from TESCO stating they had requested more information from the vet. The vet replied they had NOT received a request for further info so called TESCO. TESCO then sent a letter stating if the info requested was NOT received they would "close" our claim. Vet contacted TESCO and was told there was a discrepancy of 15p between the amount the vet had written on the claim form and the invoice total...... 15 pence! Vet checked the invoice and emailed reply to TESCO stating the invoice total WAS as stated and WAS correct. Tried the "claim tracker" a few days later that apparently is NOT functioning... so Called Tesco "claim line" and was told our claim payment "was in process... will be paid into the bank account our Direct Debit is taken from" within 7 days. Despite this assurance, 3 days ago I received ANOTHER email from TESCO stating they requested the results of the Histology report from the vet before they could make a decision on our claim... I cannot understand what bearing the report would possibly have on the outcome of our claim,but forwarded the email to the vet, who again had NOT received the request. Vet sent us a copy of their response and the histology report sent to TESCO. I called TESCO claim line AGAIN today and was told they had received the report, but our claim had not yet been processed. The agent who took the call (William) said he would be the person assessing the claim and would "jump the queue" to process it as soon as possible... BUT he is on holiday NEXT week so would have to forward it to a colleague if it was not complete by then! Meantime, Mollie has been so unwell following her surgery she has had a 1am out patient appointment AND the following week another inpatient stay. I have paid another £1800 bill on my credit card, but NOT yet submitted this to TESCO in fear that a "Continuing Care" claim would confuse them and the delay initial payout...... If not a deliberate delaying tactic, this is shocking incompetence on the part of TESCO Pet Insurance, "MISMANAGED" by Royal Sun Alliance. Reviewed on: 27th July 2023

3 Times more expensive on renewal.

I had been with Tesco Pet Insurance for 3 years. Never made a claim. Renewal in my 4th year was 3 TIMES as much as the identical same policy advertised on a price comparison site. When I challenged Tesco on this I got a 3 page letter of absolute waffle. In essence my renewal was £330 but the exact same policy on the comparison site was £108. NEVER AUTO RENEW ON AN INSURANCE POLICY AND SHOP AROUND. Very poor from Tesco - they'll lose my grocery business too as a result. Every little helps apparently. Reviewed on: 10th July 2023

Tesco pet insurance

Tesco Pet Insurance Totally immoral! Beware on lifetime policies an excess is charged for an ongoing claim for a very sick dog every time the policy renews. Significantly hype your rates every year and charge the excess each year on the same ongoing claim. Disgusting. Reviewed on: 16th June 2023

Claims condition is pre existing and refuses to pay

Absolute shambles! AVOID AVOID AVOID! My dog had an ear infection in April 2022. Then in January 2023 I took her to the vets for skin problems (flakey skin all over including ears) Tesco bank determined that because of the ear infection in 2022 her skin condition was pre exsisting even after a statement from my vets stating that the 2 visits to the vets were not connected they then decided to use their in house vets who had never ever seen my dog to determine whether the 2 events were connected! I now have to pay a hefty £1500 bill for blood tests and vaccinations. Reviewed on: 1st June 2023

Greedy

With one claim last year of £436 my one year old cat's renewal cost has increased from £210.28 to £366.15 that 57% increase. Daylight robbery, I won't be renewing my policy with them. Reviewed on: 27th April 2023
