The Triodos Personal Current Account has a low monthly fee.

You can manage your account via an app and there’s a Bristol-based contact team if you need support. Triodos don’t offer an overdraft facility or immediate faster payments. You’ll get text message alerts to help you manage your money and online statement.

Monthly fee is money well soent

There is a monthly fee for this account (£3). So it is a "no brainer" that it is poor value when other current accounts are free. Except that the £3 means Triodos don't need to penalise you if you become overdrawn. Also, it is the gateway you need to access their other products. The staff are helpful.and kind. The website is a bit cranky for some products, but those that are available via the app are the best for people with sight loss that I've found. Reviewed on: 28th February 2025

Every time I have had to contact the bank they have been extremely helpful and friendly. I know I can easily connect with them if I have any concerns. Excellent ethical bank account.

Excellent ethical bank account. I have a current and saving account safe in the knowledge that my funds are not contributing to the climate catastrophe or global injustice. Very good service with a person, not a bot, at the end of the line. Highly recommended. Reviewed on: 4th March 2025

More than money

Switching to this bank has done more good for me than any savings or investment. I finally feel good about my money. I research the climate and biodiversity crisis on a day to day basis, I see in some depth the horrors being committed right now, and the lingering thought that my money, that I worked for, was being used against the lives of my children, friends and family was a serious source of shame and anxiety for me. I shouldn't have put it off. The switch was easy, and with apple pay this is no different from my old bank. I genuinely feel good every time I pay for something with it.
