Review of the Axa, Car Insurance:

I’ve been a loyal customer of AXA for years, but my recent experience with them has been extremely disappointing. When I found a cheaper quote elsewhere and asked if AXA could match it, I was told outright that this wasn’t possible and that I should look elsewhere. It felt like my loyalty as a long-term customer wasn’t valued at all. Despite raising concerns about how my renewal premium was calculated, I received vague, generic responses that lacked transparency. AXA claims they follow FCA regulations, but they refused to provide a clear explanation of how my renewal price was determined, leaving me questioning their fairness. To make matters worse, AXA imposes a £52.50 cancellation fee, which they justify with routine administrative tasks like updating the Motor Insurance Database. This fee feels excessive and unfair, especially given that switching providers was my only real option due to their unwillingness to negotiate or clarify their pricing. Overall, AXA’s approach feels dismissive of customer loyalty and overly rigid. They seem more interested in pushing customers to shop around than retaining them by offering competitive pricing or addressing concerns properly. I’ve escalated my complaint, but based on this experience, I won’t be returning to AXA in the future. I wouldn’t recommend AXA if you value transparency, loyalty, or flexibility from your insurance provider. There are better options out there. Rating: 1/5 Reviewed on: 27th November 2024

6 reasons I won't use AXA again

1
Mind numbingly dull, yet excruciating, AXA’s on hold music is by far the worst I have ever heard. I recently made a straight forward car insurance claim and so far there has been: 11 phone calls. 7 unanswered emails. 5 texts, letters and emails from AXA containing false information. 3 times AXA promised to make the payment within 24 hours, but did not. 25 days since the accident and still I haven't received any payment. And that music, AXA, please, please make it stop. Reviewed on: 6th June 2023

non fault accident claim

1
I had a no-fault accident where another driver reversed into my car. I had just stopped after reversing. All on CCTV. This happened last September( 2022). Had my car repaired 3 months later.. Now into June 2023 and still not further. Axa kept asking me to acept a 50/50 claim ( I refused) only to find out the other driver is also insured with them. I have recieved no up dates nor any calls from AXA. I have had to consistently ring them. Service is absolutely awful and would advise anyone to consider taking out any insurance with this company. Absolutely seamless service.

After my minor but expensive accident the service was straight forward with no problems. I can't fault my experience with them. Reviewed on: 25th May 2023

Don't make a claim

1
AXA are the worst company to deal with. Stay away if you don't want your mental health destroyed if you make a claim. They have asked for everything including my full medical record from I was born and undermined a extremely qualified GP. Apparently they know better! Months upon months of dealing with an extremely difficult company. They have actually left me sitting shaking today and I wasn't even insured with them it was their driver hit me!! All that glitters is not gold

1
Setting up the policy was easy. Getting notified of renewal, great. Customer service was awesome until I put in a claim for medical reasons that I couldn’t fly. I put the claim in last year May (2022). The claim is still outstanding. I made a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman, they were forced to pay me for the time the claim has been outstanding. Eleven months later, the claim has now been approved for the payout. (How long will this take, no idea). I share this with you because I don’t want you to make the same horrible mistake. Based on the situation it seemed they were angry to pay out on the claim. The staff became rude and dismissive, even lying about receiving emails. It was a disaster to say the least! Thanks to the Financial Ombudsman team for working with me. Reviewed on: 12th April 2023

You will never see the money they've promised

1
I was promised over 500 pounds to cover my medical bill almost a year ago...I am still waiting. It is impossible to speak to them via phone, and via email you will get an apology every 2 months with no action. They keep apologising and escalating the issue but I am still waiting. If you like being passed from pillar to post by various Axa representatives and then spend lengthy waits on their auto call systems. They are for you. My claim is now in its 5th month and still no end in sight and still the buck passing continues. Never again. Reviewed on: 3rd February 2023
