I’ve applied several times for a credit limit increase to support my company’s needs, and each request was declined — despite having a good payment history. How a company can function with £3,000 limit? Recently, I made a £400 payment toward my balance in an effort to continue using the account responsibly and improve my chances of an increase. Instead of seeing progress, Barclaycard reduced my credit limit to £2,600— with no proper explanation. This decision feels not only counterproductive but also completely demotivating for someone trying to manage their business credit properly. It gives the impression that payments are penalised rather than rewarded. I expected better support from a company that claims to stand behind businesses. The platinum account has good cash back offers on, their app to manage the account is easy to use and covers everything! The app also outlines card account offers including balance transfers, money transfers and the option to transfer your existing Barclaycard to another type they offer, with no new application! I’ve never ever know a high street bank to have that service. The only occasion I’ve needed to call them was for a charge back and they couldn’t have been more helpful.
