Simple request denied, call disconnected, no follow up

I asked for written confirmation of when my next direct debit was due. Now, you'd think that this would be a reasonable request and a very simple one to carry out. But no. It turned into a 30 minute waste of time!!! The first person I spoke to said she "wasn't allowed" to provide this basic customer service. I then asked to speak to a manager (which I hate doing but I was getting nowhere with this person) initially she told me "no managers are available". Then she put me on on hold to go and speak to the (apparently unavailable) manager. The manager she spoke to refused to come to the phone. So she transferred me to someone else who said that sending me the written confirmation I had requested was " not a process we would follow" and also refused to help me. He said the only way to receive this simple piece of information was to lodge a complaint with Customer Relations!!! He then transferred me at which point the call was terminated by the bank. There has been NO FOLLOW UP whatsoever!!! Clearly nobody there cares about their customers and are completely incapable of problem solving. I've worked in multiple customer service roles and I would never DREAM of treating a customer like this. Absolutely APPALLING!!! Reviewed on: 11th May 2025
