The bank from hell. Want to buy things online? Expect 50% of them to be rejected by Barclays. Try running a business with them, it is impossible, they will not process the payments to suppliers. HATE THEM 100% AVOID THIS COMPANY. Reviewed on: 11th February 2018

Closed my business account without giving a reason

I received a notice saying i got 6 weeks before my account is closed. There was no reason on the letter why the account is being closed. The account has never been overdrawn, no arrears or late payments. I called Barclays business team a few times, spent about 3 hours on the phone with them. Now, i am switching to another bank. Closed accounts - they keep the money

As others have said they closed my business account and have kept the money. No one can actually explain it but it's to do with not updating information (which I did). No notice - just closure. If you are running a business under £2m turnover they have no interest (nobody on the board is responsible for small business - only Enterprise sized companies). Closed my business account and left me with no access to my money to pay my team

Barclays Business has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. A warning about potential restrictions prompted me to contact them, only to find no outstanding requests. Attempts to access my account were met with confusion and unhelpful transfers between representatives, some even hanging up. The removal of my account during an attempt to add a team member compounded the issue. Do not use this bank

After having 2 business accounts with Barclays for over 40 years I now can longer tolerate their appalling customer service. Due to a change in staff I needed to update my signing mandates. After a year of filling out forms, telephone calls and e-mails they still have not accepted my information. I have no idea what they are doing with the information I send them, but they are not logging it and every time i chase this they I get the same response and yet another form to sign an... Waiting for months for final statements

Barclays were ok for small business use. We switched away because they have horrible ethics, a mediocre service, and are expensive. Months after switching, we're still chasing our final statements. Barclays promised to send them, but the last time we called, they hung up on us. Dinosaur brands can't afford this bad customer service, and I'm glad we switched. Reviewed on: 14th September 2023

Worst bank ever

The banking experience with Barclays is awful. From long wait times either physically in the bank or on telephone banking (expect to wait at least an hour, if it cuts off they don’t call you back, so you do another hour), to insisting on paper communication (talk about sustainability), this bank is antiquated, and its systems and processes are not fit for purpose.
