Been with Barclays for years, but looking for another...

I've been with Barclays for my current account all my life - it just seemed easier to stick with the same one. No more though - I plan to change as soon as possible as one too many times they have disappointed me. Even their Student account was the least flexible when I attended uni between 2004-2007. Recently their overdraft charges have become extortionate - you get charged 75p per day if you're up to £100 overdrawn, £1.50 per day if you're up to £300 overdrawn and a staggering £3 per day if you're overdrawn by £300+. This was sprung upon me one day and started the next week - I was cruising along at minus £700, and suddenly had to find a way to get out of it, lest I end up paying £90 a month interest. Barclays Mobile Banking App

I have been using the mobil banking app for a few years with Barclays, easy to use and transfer money, see your account expenses and all outgoings etc. transfer between accounts and general use of the app is easily done, and secure. Reviewed on: 7th March 2025

Return of barclaysafe wallet

Online banking when it works.

Another bank pushing hard for online use and the platform doesn’t work properly very fortunately I didn’t need to use it at the time when it all went wrong recently so I was lucky I was concerned about it. Reviewed on: 28th February 2025

Barclays are closing too many branches.

Barclays are closing too many branches. I had to travel 15 miles to deposit a cheque and when I got to the main branch there was no desk service available. Just one employee telling everyone to use the automated machines on the ground floor. Reviewed on: 28th February 2025

Very bad customer service makes me leave Barclays

Customer for over 25 years and the one time I got scammed they let me down and wouldn't help. Very, very disappointed and I'll be closing my accounts with them at the end of March. Really poor customer service, they were very chaotic, not adding things to the complaint, loosing a signed for letter I'd sent with evidence and the last person I've dealt with was incredibly disinterested and dismissive and the one who closed the complaint. I suppose they want to get rid of old customers or something. Reviewed on: 28th February 2025
