Still No Access to My Own Money – Barclays Actively Blocking Me This is a follow-up to my previous review, and shockingly, the situation has only gotten worse. I still have no access to my own money. Despite passing every security check, raising a formal complaint, and even visiting a branch in person, Barclays continues to block me from accessing my account. The call centre agents are unable (or unwilling) to help, the branch staff are powerless, and no one takes ownership. It feels like Barclays is now actively preventing me from accessing my own funds — with zero explanation and zero accountability. I’ve detailed this issue in a formal complaint, citing legal and regulatory obligations Barclays is clearly breaching — including FCA rules and the Payment Services Regulations — yet there's been no resolution and no urgency. Just silence. This is not just poor service — it’s deeply concerning behaviour from a bank entrusted with people’s money. If you're considering banking with Barclays, I strongly urge you to think twice. They’re shutting branches, outsourcing support, and leaving long-term customers completely stranded. Absolutely disgraceful. Barclays are a disgrace Barclays are a disgrace. Logged in to transfer my own money, got through security, and they still locked my account. Rang customer service and, as usual, ended up with an overseas call centre that couldn’t fix anything. Instead of helping, the agent made it worse and completely locked me out of both online banking and my account. Now I’ve been told I have to drag myself into a branch — except Barclays have shut every local branch near me, and the city centre one shuts at 2pm. How are customers supposed to function when you can’t fix issues on the phone and can’t even get to a branch? It’s chaos. Barclays don’t care about customers anymore, only shareholders. Outsourcing to useless call centres, closing branches, and leaving people stranded. Shocking service, shocking attitude, and no respect for the people who trust them with their money.
