The TSB Cash account is a basic bank account.

It’s available if you don’t have a UK bank account and don’t qualify for other TSB current accounts. There’s no charge for opening or maintaining the account. Cash account holders can use the TSB mobile banking app, but you won’t be able to get an overdraft.

Hard going

I signed up recently using the mobile app, it seemed all plan sailing until right at the end when the app was in constant 'loading' for many minutes. I had no clue whether i signed up. I received an email suggesting i had signed up however when i went back on the app, it allowed me to type in the credentials i requested but it would not allow me to select my mobile number for verification. I called the customer service, seem based in India, and they did not understand me (great..) Reviewed on: 23rd January 2026

I really appreciate the mobile cheque deposit facility

Not had the account long but I really appreciate the mobile cheque deposit facility, amazing that some banks still do not offer this. Payments and authorisations are quick and fuss free. I went into the bank once to deposit some cash and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Reviewed on: 12th June 2025
