Great Until you need to use them for their intended purposes

Been insured with them for quite a few years it was great they would send a renewal price which would be like £20 less than the year before so id phone up and they would take over £100 off to match closer to what other companies were offering it was great couldn't fault them thought highly of them and recommend them to everyone, then earlier this year I ended up in a minor accident my car was written off didn't cost them much was only worth £1100 the other driver only had minor damage to their rear end and no injuries, got a courtesy car the next day and got payout in just over a week they were great dealing with it couldn't fault them there, then my insurance is due to be renewed next month and I'm shocked to find out they are trying to charge me more than double now, I completely get that the accident and the loss of my 2 years of my no claims will put the price up a bit but more than double? you'd think I had 6 points on my license and had been drunk driving, phoned them up waited over an hour to get through to be hung up on when they were looking into the price, then finally got through again to be told they are only willing to take £20 and a I don't care attitude, told them they need to take about £300 off or I won't be renewing and they said they won't. I'm shocked that this is how a loyal repeat customer is treated after using their service for its intended use, yes of course it's going to go up after an accident but more than double is a joke. so anyone thinking of going with them then yes they are a great company to use until god forbids you end up in an accident then try to renew you'll be in for a shock, like sorry for using you for what your supposed to be used for. Excellent Service

I was rear ended and needed to have body work done. I was worried about the process because we were no longer using the yellow company, which is very good but very expensive. My vehicle is a nine passenger van, so it is historically tricky to find a suitable rental vehicle. Direct Line made all the arrangements, including the pickup of our van from our home, its repair, its return, and the van rental we used in the interim. I really appreciate the ease of the whole process. They turned a potentially very stressful situation into one where we felt cared for. Thank you, Direct Line! I have been with Direct Line for over 12 years, in this period they have always been an excellent policy provider, after a number of accidents, some my fault, some not, they have provided excellent support with vehicle repair and loans. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

Registration was easy enough

Registration was easy enough, however, I didn’t experience a claim when I was insured by them. Since then they have not been the most competitive. Reviewed on: 2nd April 2024
