When you buy Car insurance, if you think you are going to be in an accident make sure you have Motor Legal Protection.

If we own or drive a car we require Car Insurance. When buying always think about buying Motor Legal Protection.(MLP) I made the mistake of not including it with my insurance with Direct Line. I was involved in an accident. Hit from behind and suffered injury. Because I did not have MLP I was directed to a no win no fee legal firm. This company took on my case and I was succesful. The company is owned by Direct line. They provided a great service but it would have been better if I had paid the bit extra and had MLP. This would have meant that you get the big legal guns of Direct Line fighting your case. A must if the accident you were involved in is disputed by the other side. Direct Line provides a good efficient service and I would recomment them but remember MLP. Reviewed on: 26th March 2015

Wish they was on price comparrison web sites

Direct line isn't on price comparrison web sites and are more expensive than most car insurance offers but they do offer more cover. e.g windscreen, key care. fuel care, breakdown cover. Direct line are friendly over the phone. I've never made a claim so can't tell you how good they deal with a claim. Reviewed on: 26th March 2015

overall it was quite good, but i did have to argue to get what i deserved

I got a great price from them, and i didnt have any problem with them until it was time to leave, i spent 1 hour on the phone just to leave, being offered everything that i didn't want, all i wanted was to leave, looking back if i knew how hard it was to leave i wouldnt of chosen them for my car insurance Reviewed on: 26th March 2015

Great service both during a non fault accident and last year when I had to stop driving due to health.

I had have been with them for years after a non fault accident they where very quick to get my car collected fixed and returned. Then last year I had to stop driving due to health issues again they where very helpful changing insurance details over to my husband advising me on transferring my no claims to keep insurance costs down. I have been with Direct Line for a few years now for different kinds of insurances and always felt that the company had very good customer services. Nothing was a problem when I happened to be in contact with them about anything. Prices for each insurance was competitive and affordable. Therefore, I would definitely recommend them. ALWAYS BEEN GREAT TILL GO RENEWAL QUOTE AND HAD GONE UP £200 WITH NO CHANGES !!

Insurance with Direct Line

I thought I would be given the best deal from Direct Line when I asked for a quote over the Internet but found it was dearer than my current insurace. I then wanted to find out why so rang them up and not only did they give me a better offer than my existing insurer, they gave me a few added benefits that I did not have. I would say to talk to them over the phone if they do not beat your current insurer as they may offer to beat your current insurer with a few added benefits as well. Reviewed on: 24th March 2015

When looking for insurance after my daughter passed her test and got her first car, this provider gave the lowest quote and allowed us to pay in monthly installments. She now has a telematics box in her car which monitors her driving which is somewhat reassuring to me as her nervous mum! Overpriced
