Dealt with claim brilliantly

My car was struck the week of my wedding/honeymoon, which I thought would be an absolute nightmare to then deal with. No such issue. Direct line booked it in to a a repair centre the next day, and were more than happy to allow me to give authorisation for my Dad to become their point of contact for dealing with the claim while I was out of the country. The repair was complete within 5 days, and Direct Line even paid my dad's taxi fare to travel to the repair centre to collect the car. They may not be the cheapest insurer out there, but having gone through the claims process with them, I would be reluctant to switch insurers elsewehere. Reviewed on: 29th August 2015

easy trouble free buying

found taking out a policy with directline to be really quick and easy. Their price was really good too. They are not on price comparison websites so should always be checked separately Reviewed on: 27th August 2015

Cheapest quote

Tried all the comparison sites and separately did Aviva and DirectLine as they dont appear on them. Direct Line gave the cheapest quote. it was quick and easy to buy Insurance and the documents were received within a few days Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

reliable and affordable

have been with them for 5 years and have always been reliable and competitive. Even when i had a prang they still kept the renewal price lower than anyone else and made the whole process v easy. Reviewed on: 10th August 2015

Cheapest for young drivers

After buying my daughter her first car we then spent days looking a reasonable price as it was her first insurance after passing her test. We tried everything and finally tried direct line who offered the best price and the best cover using a telematics box which I find reassuring as it gives a score based on how well she's driving. If her score is consistently good she will have up to 50% discount on renewal. Reviewed on: 9th August 2015

When you buy Car insurance, if you think you are going to be in an accident make sure you have Motor Legal Protection.

If we own or drive a car we require Car Insurance. When buying always think about buying Motor Legal Protection.(MLP) I made the mistake of not including it with my insurance with Direct Line. I was involved in an accident. Hit from behind and suffered injury. Because I did not have MLP I was directed to a no win no fee legal firm. This company took on my case and I was succesful. The company is owned by Direct line. They provided a great service but it would have been better if I had paid the bit extra and had MLP. This would have meant that you get the big legal guns of Direct Line fighting your case. A must if the accident you were involved in is disputed by the other side. Direct Line provides a good efficient service and I would recomment them but remember MLP. Reviewed on: 26th March 2015

Wish they was on price comparrison web sites

Direct line isn't on price comparrison web sites and are more expensive than most car insurance offers but they do offer more cover. e.g windscreen, key care. fuel care, breakdown cover. Direct line are friendly over the phone. I've never made a claim so can't tell you how good they deal with a claim. Reviewed on: 26th March 2015

overall it was quite good, but i did have to argue to get what i deserved

I got a great price from them, and i didnt have any problem with them until it was time to leave, i spent 1 hour on the phone just to leave, being offered everything that i didn't want, all i wanted was to leave, looking back if i knew how hard it was to leave i wouldnt of chosen them for my car insurance Reviewed on: 26th March 2015
