Dealing with Domestic and General through my Whirlpool warranty has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with an appliance repair service. After two previous visits that didn’t resolve the issue, I was left hanging on a third appointment, scheduled for a 1-4 PM window. Despite calling twice to confirm, I was repeatedly told the technician was on the way—only to find out later that this was not true. The office had already closed (on Eastern time), leaving me unable to ensure I was rescheduled for the next day. When I called again to follow up, I was informed that the parts had been returned to the warehouse and I’d have to wait another four days to reschedule. At this point, I requested that Domestic and General just write me a check so I could replace the fridge. After three weeks without a working fridge, we needed to be able to keep food in the house. They refused, claiming the repair technician hadn’t designated the fridge as non-repairable—which is a lie. The technician clearly told me that only Whirlpool’s tech support has the authority to deem it unrepairable. The representative I spoke with was incredibly rude and dismissive, saying, “I don’t care, sir. This isn’t how it works,” and showed no interest in finding a solution. It’s been almost three weeks since the initial visit, and our fridge is still broken. If I could give negative stars for their service, I would, because they certainly don’t deserve even one. Only used once, but my friend swears by them!

I have paid for annual cover for over 20 years but when I needed them over a flue, which they do nor cover but never flagged as a potential problem, they were hopeless.

My gas system was shut down as dangerous despite regular D & G annual service visits. The excellent company who replaced if found several boiler leaks and problems which D & G has not recognised. Reviewed on: 12th January 2023

Fake Company!!!

This is to notify you that I have been with D&G for nearly 2 years now. And I have had the worst experience ever using this particular Company!!! I was so much frustrated with their service that I was forced to cancel all existing policies just a week ago. I was also going to have more gadgets under their insurance cover but not any more after the most recent horrible experience! I highly recommend everyone to back off now! This is not an insurance conoany but a scam running operation

AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! Avoid them at all cost. They do not provide ANY care. I have made 4 appoitments with them to repair a pump on the washing machine. All of them were cancelled. Customer care doesn't answer any questions, ingeneers don't show up for thier appoitments. Scam operation. Reviewed on: 22nd December 2022

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Avoid D&G and Whirlpool like the plague! I spent 3 hours trying to book an appointment through a non-existent D&G customer service team. D&G's website kept failing at the point of booking an appointment date, advising me to call Whirlpool directly, who also had a non-existent customer service team. After a bit of digging I managed to get onto Whirlpool's website with my D&G account number to book a date with their automated online service but would have to wait 9 days for an engineer. The night before the repair date I was contacted to inform me of a 4 hour window in which the engineer would arrive. 2 hours before that window i received another message that the engineer was no longer available and to rebook via the website, the next appointment not being for another 14 days. More unsuccessful attempts to contact a non existent customer service team has followed. I always suspected insurance schemes were nothing but a scam to steal peoples money without providing an actual service, but this really takes the mickey! Reviewed on: 21st December 2022

Shambolic

Shambolic! We had someone come to look at our broken fridge. He said there’s a part he needs to order and would come back..then he came back a week later with a completely broken unusable part, now we’ve had 2 more cancelled appointment’s DURING the time slots! (7am-10am and cancelling at 9am) we have now both taken 4 days off work for this and haven’t had a working fridge for over a month! Send a complaint twice and completely ignored. Shocking customer service.

After waiting for a repair guy to visit my tumble dryer was written off. A week later I had to chase up my replacement was given a link for what was available. I picked 1 of the few that were actually in stock received an email confirming my delivery date which was almost a week later. The day arrives no further correspondence so I called them up. Get told that the one I ordered wasn't in stock and it would be delivered in just over a week's time. Fast forward too today new machine arrives fine but no instruction to remove old appliance even though I paid for it too be removed. Again get onto the phone to be told there is nothing they can do as they instructed it to be removed. It's still here. I contacted the company who delivered it and got the rudest women I've ever had the misfortune to talk too who told me too shut up so she could get a word in. So I'm out of pocket stuck with machine i now have to pay out again too have removed and there has been no attempt to correct the issue or make it right for me! Really poor experience and am tempted to remove all of my policies from them if this is how a loyal 10+year customer gets treated. Disgusting. Reviewed on: 10th November 2022

Fairly priced

I have most of my items insured for less than £30, the engineers are excellent, very knowledgeable. Can book every repair from the app, including a time slot and the engineer let's you know when he is on route with an ETA Friendly and polite customer services Reviewed on: 13th October 2022

Changed my address twice so im not covered

These lot have automatically changed my address twice in a row. Now I have to call them again and get it sorted. poor service and will be cancelling all my products as they dont care. when it happend 1st I was passed pillar to post and knowone would take ownership. for e.g if my tv or home appliace broke or something went wrong I was told I would not have been covered. They only appologised. now I am waiting for them to contact me. This comoany is a Disgrace and I am so frustrated with them Reviewed on: 4th October 2022
