They are affordable, they actually answer the phone and do not have long waiting time but you can also book a repairs via their online portal and if they can’t fix the problem they will replace. Reviewed on: 4th May 2024

The worst insurance policy for appliances.

Absolutely terrible company. I had three visits from their repair agents over a month to deal with a leak in a fridge freezer and, far from fixing it, I actually think they made it worst, as afterwards I noticed pipework was suddenly protruding from the back . On the third visit the agent said it was now a write off and under the insurance policy, it would be replaced, and that I should wait until I was contacted by d&g. Off course, they didn't contact me and after logging on to my account I noticed the plan had actually been cancelled, without myself being informed. I called them to find out what was going on and they told me under the policy guidelines, they were not obligated to replace the unit and the plan was to be automatically cancelled. This was completely contrary to what I was told. A complete and frustrating waste of time, effort and money. Reviewed on: 22nd April 2024

I have tried for 10 days to just get an appointment for fridge freezer, not functioning, so 10 calls, 4 formal email complaints and 1.5 hours on live chat and still not even got a date for engineer to come....none of their phone numbers put you through to a human, all working from home since Covid, so essentially the company collects your premiums and done absolutely nothing. I have 11 plans costing me over £1,500 pa and have been a client for 15 years but i am now cancelling all of the plans - absolute disgrace and will be continuing this formal complaint with Ombudsman as this company is now criminal in nature Reviewed on: 14th April 2024

Avoid at all costs another post office type scam.

Another scam company. Says pay monthly insurance, your appliance is quickly repaired or replaced. Gets you peace of mind. Complete lies, they take your money fob you off week after week, weeks always failing to call you back. When they can’t repair it, they don’t replace your machine. A hoover washer/dryer bought 17 months ago. She fell for false/ malicious promises in their literature. She’s Filipina a british citizen since 2012 married to a Scottish man, they live in Scotland. She believed the lies DG spin. She’s nurse caring for elderly people who needs to wash/dry uniform/clothing every day after work due to covid. She broke her wrist so can’t hand wash and is 64 yrs old, covid is still here. 3 weeks 2 days ago washer dryer she bought broke down. Hubby’s an OAP with disabilities to wrists ,fingers, hands, neck injury, shoulder injury often preventing use of arm/hand, lower back issue irreparable knee injuries all limiting movement. She phoned D and G, an engineer came on 10th January, D and G say he didn’t came on 17th. I the hubby was there, it was the 10th. He said ‘motor broken, ordered a new one and would be back to fit it’. Never known a motor break after 17 months. She got a text fitted in 7 days the following `friday. Text cancelled following Friday, no parts, to be repaired the next Friday in 7 days. Text received on the Tuesday, it would be repaired the next day Wednesday but cancelled the next day, it will be 7 days Wednesday, 24th Jan. it’s like a romance scam, taking your money do nothing. it was cancelled by text on the `Tuesday. Given another 7 days, basically Wednesday 24th 3 weeks washing scattered everywhere. Texts said couldn’t get the part het internet & companies have it next day delivery, it can be got. She’s paid over £132, D and G would get more in continued insurance payments. My wife’s a very honest, law abiding person and fell for this scam. The company say no payments refunded yet they are being dishonest the part is WIDELY AVAILABLE FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY ON THE INTERNET. I could have bought it, got a local legitimate Scottish company to fit it nit this ‘cowboy’ D and G company but it would invalidate the insurance. D AND G COULD HAVE BOUGHT IT ON THE INTERNET APPROVED AN HONEST SCOTS COMPANY TO FIT IT but didn’t. She’s phoned several times asking what the problem is, a unhelpful woman says ‘computer screen says not in stock’, can’t be bothered to find out why, when they will be or why they haven’t bought one from the internet. She’s fobbed off as most women say they are for being a woman.. She speaks south east asian english, it’s bordering on the racism we’ve had many times. The appliance was bought 4 miles away in North scotland, we’re subject to Scots law not english law. She was speaking to someone in Wimbledon 700 MILES AWAY. She phoned last `friday 19th January trying to sort the matter out., was promised a reply, none came. She phoned Monday 22nd to be told she had never phoned them, it’s recorded on her Iphone. The woman was more concerned with going home Friday than doing her job, my wife helps her wages This scam company took her payment 17th January despite not fulfilling their obligation to her repair/repair as of sat 27/1. Appointment cancelled yet another 7 day wait, part still available on internet. She phoned `thursday another woman said ‘computer screen says not available’ (same computer saying engineer didn’t come 10th/1 but he did). She phoned hoover who say D and G need to sort it out. Phones D and G another woman ‘says screen says no parts, we can’t see the screen! She’d made a complaint, was put through ‘complaints’ another woman said she would phone by 5pm friday when it was finalised. No one phoned. I had to drive her 14 miles to nearest launderette, I had to pay for larking, it’s free here. On her day off she’d to spend 5 hours in a laundrette watching washing rotate instead of relaxing before night duty tonight & Sunday. £80 it cost her. Company says its not liable for payments we have to make but its due to their dishonesty/incompetence. Reviewed on: 27th January 2024

given one star because I can't give a minus. Absolutely diabolic, lying and scheming company. No washing machine since 27th December. Take your money via DD, send you a text saying they'll send engineer in 7 days to repair your washing machine ( 3rd Jan) so you wait and struggle and then they don't turn up or notify you and you only find out when you chase them to find you were never going to be allocated an engineer because you'd been put in the wrong box?!!!!.even though online it states your request is in progress! No apology, no compensation for rearranging hospital appointments and everything else and all they offer you after THEIR error is another 7 days wait Staff lie, put the phone down on you, promise you a new machine, tell you they are new to the job so not sure what to do, put you on hold for over half an hour at 7p a minute, pretend they can't hear you and then tell you a washing machine repair can take 28 days so can you get to a laundrette!!!! Complained to CEO ignored but Q. GARDENER called in very condescending fashion to tell me ( 3 days after finally escalating my complaint) to tell me exactly what I'd already been told that I had to wait another 7 days. Told her I wasn't happy ( without swearing mind) and she said she didn't like my tone and threatened to cancel my cover. I told her I wish she would cancel it as its the biggest waste of money I've ever paid out for a non existent service not to mention rude and useless staff and just found out today she has already cancelled my cover. Getting legal advice now. Its the principal. I'm the customer and you'd think I hadn't paid for the cover the way they treated me. Still no washing machine but still have text saying they'd be here 3rd January!!!! AVOID!!! THESE PEOPLE LIE AND DON'T TURN UP WHEN THEY TEXT YOU THEY WILL, THEN DONT EVEN LET YOU KNOW THEY CANT MAKE THE APPOINTMENT, THEN THEY TRY TO MAKE OUT ITS YOUR FAULT AND YOU'RE MAKING A FUSS OVER NOTHING AND IT COULD TAKE 28 DAYS SO BE GRATEFUL AND SHUT UP BECAUSE 14 DAYS IS GREAT!!! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

NEVER EVER use this company, we are now considering persuing legal action for missold services. They promised us a repair service whereby if the initial repair didn't work they would send someone else out. It has now been 6 weeks and they are refusing to send someone out to fix their failed repair. On top of this they have at points tried to claim that they cannot find our payment - we've had to send them bank statements! 6 weeks in to having no functioning machine we now recieve a letter claiming it will be potentially another 8 weeks before they complete their investigation. All this right before Xmas. Absolute horrific service whereby they've essentially stolen our money and not provided the promised service, meanwhile leaving us with a broken machine and having to pay extra costs out of our pocket on top of what we've already paid them. Horrible company who simply don't care about their customers and can't even out of good will follow up on their own promised services. DO NOT EVER USE. Reviewed on: 21st December 2023

Worst company ever!!!!!!!

If you love your sanity and mental health run away from D&g insurances. It is the worst company ever. Customer service is appalling. All they do is lie and lie. Communication is the worst I have experienced in my life time. Booked engineer visit two months ago. Either the engineer is sick or absolutely no contact to advice either way. You call them and their customer service is shocking. They all just lie and lie through their teeth. Flee from d&g if you love your life!!!! Reviewed on: 19th December 2023

Dreadful service

I’ve just had the worst service I have ever experienced with this company. Too stressed and distressed this evening after multiple phone calls, hanging on for hours waiting to be answered and then being cut off and going to the back of the queue. Nobody took ownership of the failure to sort out our problem - they just could not care less! In the midst of me pointing out how bad the service was they tried to sell me more policies for other machines!
