I recently opened up a bank account with the Reading team. I am extremely happy with Oli's, Luke's and Sukh's customer service. Especially during this pandemic, they went out of their way to keep me informed every step and were courteous, helpful and efficient. I have opened up bank accounts with other banks before and I have never received the level of excellent customer service that I had received from Oli, Luke and Sukh.

The Reading Metrobank branch have some of the most incredible people working there. They are excellent and I can not thank them enough. Metrobank is by far the best bank I have worked with and that is down to these three gentleman! 10/10 stars

Opened my business account on the first day after that I put a application for BBLS they wasted 5 weeks of mine kept asking for same paperwork which were sent few times. I was told lies from there telephone management, after 5 weeks the loan got declined now there is no one who is given loan to new customers.
I did contact CEO MR DANIEL Furmarkin, he was a waste of time also my advise is don't go with this bank there Customer service is so bad it takes over 45min to 1 hour to talk about any issues,
Now I am taking this case to FCO

Please don't waste your time with metro

They simply have no customer service and from my own expereince they do not do business banking. I genuinely can't understand how they get these 5 star reviews, I can only think it's from lucky people (and ONLY personal accounts) who never need to bank to sort anything out. Tried opening a business account to switch to them for my company that have been in business for 30 years, 3 months later still not open. No idea what's going on, can't get ANY sensible replies from Metrobank, can't speak to anyone about it etc etc... constantly told I will be called back, it never happens. So now I have given up and staying where we are. They are impossible to deal with, staff are very friendly but utterly useless and unhelpful. Opening a business account with them seems impossible, they also seem not to want to take international payments which is difficult if you expect to sell anything outside the UK (they claim they do but in reality don't want to, so make it difficult to open an account to recieve payments from abroad). Very strange attitude to business and complete lack of understanding of how any business would operate. Avoid them at all costs and go with a proper bank, it'll save you lots and lots and lots of trouble in the long run. I think we had a lucky escape by NOT switching to them. Dreadful bank.

I've been with Metro Bank for many years now and have always been nothing short of delighted with their offering. Everything is quick, easy and simple. If you need to get in touch you can either go in and see them even on a Sunday, or call them up where they are happy to go above and beyond for you.

If only they would move a little further north and open up a few more stores so I could ditch my other account that I have to keep solely for depositing cash and cheques when there isn't a location nearby.

Definitely unparalleled as I have never experienced anything like it with any other organisation or bank. I have been waiting since 7th July to access money from a matured bond with no success. The wait on the phone is interminable and when you do finally get through you are met with a completely inept customer service. Metro Bank have made mistakes which they admit to but have still not rectified the situation in spite of promises made. The situation has caused me immense stress and I could never countenance dealing with them in the future nor recommend anyone else to do so. Meanwhile they still have my money so they are sitting pretty whilst I am becoming more and more frustrated. When you own a problem you should then take action to deal with it but they have not.

Awful services for businesses. Incompetents and couldn't care less. I've waited for almost 2 months for them to get approved for BBL and test their product. In the first day, it failed. In the second day, I was approved and told the money would be in my account in 24 hours. On the 3rd day, they said they couldn't give me the money without an explanation. It took me 3 days to get in touch with someone to tell me. that they don't know why it was denied and I should send a letter in the post! I am switching now to a real bank, these (starting with the branch managers) are completely useless and incompetent puppets.

They are still holding on to my life's savings

Metro bank are the worst bank ever rude hang up constantly and freeze my account cause I sold my private car and received back payment due to covid 19. When I sold it I agreed to deliver to the buyer I dropped the car to Exeter and went to get a train back home Southampton, went to purchase my £40 ticket and it was declined despite several thousand available I tried again same outcome I ended up stranded at the airport in the middle of a covid pandemic with a very frightened 13 year old girl who had come with me. The next day after network rail gave us both a ticket free of charge I rang to find out my account is blocked over the payment the buyer made to me I provided all the proof of the payment and a statement from the buyer saying they transferred it and did so willingly still remained froze only let me access 1200 of a 9000 balance I attended the bank raised he’ll politely and was told they would let me withdraw half while they looked into this transfer I drove half hour back to the bank for them to say no you can only have 1000 after they had Rang me to go in and collect 4000 account still remains blocked they don’t let you talk to the department dealing with it and hang up on the phone avoid like the plague

In the current situation, I asked for a reasonable small loan to prevent losing the business. They "kindly" offered me a loan, charging 10% interest (the Bank of England interest is about 0.1%), I am disgusted!

I have a 5 year fixed rate buy-to-let mortgage at 3.59% with Metro Bank which expires in August this year. My tenants who have been at the property for 4 years asked if they could pay £600 less per month because they have both lost work since outbreak of Covid-19. I agreed to this because I'm listening to the government's message that it is incumbent on all of us to support our fellow citizens during this crisis. I asked Metro Bank if I could leave my mortgage 4 months early to move to a mortgage rate which is half the rate I'm currently paying and would allow me to continue to provide a roof over my tenants heads. Metro Bank told me I would have to pay £2,307.55 in early redemption charges. I asked if this could be waived and they refused. I am very, very disappointed. Metro Banks's response is definitely not in the spirit of flexibility and support which the government has called upon us to demonstrate. I sent an email to the Metro Bank Chief Executive Daniel Frumkin and the reply was definitely not from him. Shame on Metro Bank that they would prefer to continue to make money from me at a higher interest rate at the expense of keeping a roof over the heads of vulnerable tenants.

I'm deeply unhappy about Metrobank and its services and I can only urge anyone to stay away from them! The short story is: Metro bank blocked my account, goes inactive when I ask them to unblock it, all while I'm stuck away from Britain without access to my funds. Therefore I can only tell anyone:

*Stay away from Metro Bank*

I will look into making a formal complaint & posting my experiences on further social media outlets, if this won't be resolved ASAP, since Metro bank keeps taking no action upon my numerous phone inquiries (5 calls so far, totaling approx. whopping 3 hours) into solving this problem.

The whole story: For some reason one of my transfers has been identified as suspicious and my account was blocked. Ok, could have happened to anybody. But instead of having a phone call resolve this situation, I have now in total called metro bank 5 (!) times, spend approx 3 hours being on the phone - and my account is still closed.
Why? Since I keep going through the same cycle that leads nowhere: After the person at the customer service speak a number of times to their manager, they tell me to come to store. I inform them that I'm away travelling, then they speak to their manager once more, then they tell me "they will look into it", since some higher up needs to give clearance and I will either get a call back, or my account will be unblocked the next day.
But nothing happens. Then I call again, they apologize, tell me again that the exact same things, *but again nothing gets done*. I still can't access my account. I don't want an apology, I want this fixed!
I just came off a phone call from someone called "Claudia", and in the middle of it, after being put on hold to speak some manager, they simply ended ended the call! Unacceptable.
I only once got a phone call back - but couldn't pick up, because I was in a meeting. I repeatedly told customer service to either use email (which apparently customer service is not allowed to do) or to call me multiple times, because I may not be able to pick up that instant they call - but that obviously fell on deaf ears. Even arranging a callback needs the extra blessing of a manager higher up the hierarchy (which again results in me being put on hold), geesh!
I even suggested arranging a skype meeting, if these supposed managers to which my query is relayed, constantly resort to letting me know via first-line customer support that "they will look into what they can do" if I can't come into store.

If I would charge you my hourly rate that I spend waiting on hold, or going through authentication and explaining my problem over and over again -since these are wasted hours that I am on phone, that I could otherwise spend working- this would be quite a bill already!
