Shockingly bad processes and communication

Been with this bank nearly 20 years and had nothing but trouble. Some of the worst bank structure and processes I've ever had to deal... Been with this bank nearly 20 years and had nothing but trouble. Some of the worst bank structure and processes I've ever had to deal with. Credit applications get archived randomly when they have high volumes with no contact made by the bank so you just have to spam call every couple of days (that's literally what the support agents recommend). It's a bit of hassle but moving to modern Banking services like Revolut is a must at this point as Bank of Ireland shows zero intention of improving Read more Read less

    Terrible reliability

    Staff OK on phone but couldn't sort problem and app is terrible. Can't log into app in 3/4 weeks. Haven't been able to authorise ecommerce...     BOI - highly incompetent

    Bank of Ireland, after being semi-state for so long must have never indoctrinated efficient and productive business practises into their corporation. After being through their... Bank of Ireland, after being semi-state for so long must have never indoctrinated efficient and productive business practises into their corporation. After being through their mortgage process twice, they have been the single party to hold the mortgage up. On my current mortgage, they have taken 6 weeks to give myself and my wife an underwriting decision, while the timeline estimate they shared was 7-10 days. Many of the employees I have been in contact with were inept and unhelpful. During this time of the underwriters' "hard work" to deliberate the decision, the interest rates increased. This company seems miles behind the market. I would have little to no faith in the overall management of Bank of Ireland - its a shame Ireland does not have more competition to choose from.     Please do not even come close to this bank. Total lack of any care or basic knowledge Impossible to get any advice at all

    I have been with bank of ireland for numerous years and their service has never changed. The staff are friendly but the banking options themselves... The staff are friendly but the banking options themselves and particularly the online banking could improve massively.
