BOI - highly incompetent

Bank of Ireland, after being semi-state for so long must have never indoctrinated efficient and productive business practises into their corporation. After being through their mortgage process twice, they have been the single party to hold the mortgage up. On my current mortgage, they have taken 6 weeks to give myself and my wife an underwriting decision, while the timeline estimate they shared was 7-10 days. Many of the employees I have been in contact with were inept and unhelpful. During this time of the underwriters' "hard work" to deliberate the decision, the interest rates increased. This company seems miles behind the market. I would have little to no faith in the overall management of Bank of Ireland - its a shame Ireland does not have more competition to choose from. Take care of loyal customers

We first took out our mortgage with Bristol & West over 10 years ago. When they were taken over by Bank of Ireland I have to admit I was quite sceptical but they have been brilliant. We always fixed our mortgage and shop around to get the best deal when our deal comes to an end. Every time, through loyalty deals, we have stayed with Bank of Ireland as they have provided the best rate for us. Excellent customer service over the phone and quick to deal with enquiries. Good deal on offer at the time

BoI gave me a good initial deal so was happy to take them up on it. Service / answering of questions is sometimes a little slow but overall quite happy with them. Reviewed on: 18th September 2015
