simple brilliant bank account

I have been a Monzo user for years and i have a number of bank accounts with other banks and building societies and Monzo is by far the best to use. A simple straight forward app interface, good features and clear instructions. it is my preferred app for banking Reviewed on: 4th April 2023

I've only had good experiences..

I've not had any big issues that required huge support so not much time to test their customer service. I have heard some horrors but I imagine that can happen with other banks too - but they do have a physical store where the can resolve. My own experience has been positive, and i've made use of the useful features with a free monzo account such as early pay, flex, etc.. Reviewed on: 31st March 2025

Refreshingly usable app

Monzo was the first bank that had a useable and intuitive (and fun!) app. I initially only used it for nights out and holidays but it was so easy to use and pretty quickly, it became my main bank. Not only is it easy to use, it's well designed. The confirmation notification of the purchase you just made is invaluable, as is the categories which help track spending. User friendly, visually stunning, informative

I use a Monzo current account alongside my everyday banking, as a way to separate different "pots" of money and save for different things. So, as you can imagine, my favourite feature is the "Pots" that allow you to do just that, removing them from your normal current account balance so you aren't tempted to spend them! It's much easier than creating several current accounts or savings accounts with my regular bank. I actually firs decided to get Monzo after I was recommended it by a friend, when it was still relatively new, and was one of the few cards you could use abroad without extortionate fees, or having to tell your bank you'd decided to go on holiday. It still does all of this fantastically, so that's another tick from me. I also love how it gives you an easy-to-read breakdown of what you've been spending your money on. Absolutely great bank, I have an account for myself and also my 3 kids. Seamless technology, so easy to use and very handy extra tools that make banking with Monzo a breeze. Easy to spend, save and even split bills with others. Highly recommended. Reviewed on: 31st March 2025
