The Post Office was my Home Contents insurer for one year, but when it came to renewal time, they said that because my home has an asbestos roof, they wouldn't any longer be able to cover me. Since I cannot understand why my roof should impact on contents as opposed to buildings cover, I think they are a very poor insurance company.

Rang to claim , and each time got a different person on the phone , was told to hang on to find out about my claim, had to complain and 3weeks later still no help or payment, utter waste of time using these people, seem they are all part timers.

This company has recently swapped from AVIVA to Lloyds and their service has become awful! We have called them twice recently. First time they have given our details to a third company that has contacted us more than 5 times to claim some money for the repairing, even though the actual work was fully covered by our policy! Second time the lady at the customer service decided that it was not their responsibility, despite the fact that she admitted that she is not a plumber and she does not have any clue of why that was not covered by the policy. Her ONLY suggestion was to call a plumber, ask for a report, pay for the report and THEN contact them again. Should the report confirm that the issue would have been covered by the insurance, we may obtain a refund. In the meantime we should just wait and deal with the issue on our own.

What can I say they having a joke rang up told them I have no claims bonus and I have not made a claim so they have had nearly £250 out of me so far on top of that my contence insurance went up £50 that I didn’t realise until it was to late so just over £190 poind increase anyway tried to offer me a better deal but still over £100 more what can I say no thank you went straight to British Gas total £178 pound, get this a free £100 Amazon voucher aswell shop around you will get better

rang to stop renewal of insurance as car was going back to lease company I didn't cancel the insurance but informed them the car was going back 3 days before my policy ended - the lady on the phone said that's OK nothing to pay. 1 week later call from rude man asking me to pay £22.86 cancellation fee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! daylight robbery and he wanted me to pay over the phone there and then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I arrived home tonight to a flooded house which resulted in no electricity downstairs. In darkness and unable to cook for my three children. Water pooring from the ceiling and flooded kitchen and bathroom floors. After having to call the claim line three times as I kept getting put on hold for ages as they check what to do I was told this was not an emergency situation and would have to wait for an underwriter to call in next 48 hours. So I'm left with no electricity downstairs and therefore unable to cook until they contact me and decide what to do. Being a single parent with three children and having never claimed in all my years and always paid annually for best cover available I find this very disappointing and will definitely look to change companies next year. Hopefully they get their finger out and get this sorted quickly to put my house back to as it was as quickly as possible.

I bought my home (contents only) insurance from Post Office last year. They had a good introductory offer (promised to beat my renewal by a significant amount), so it was worth choosing them. I only stayed with Post Office home insurance for a year, although when I phoned to cancel after a year, they were actually really helpful, and offered a good discount again. Very good customer service, it's worth talking to them on the phone.
