Being taken to the local garage with a metal bar, lovely!

Just received an email that for a missed payment due to other payments taken from my account I will be charged a hefty £25,and my insurance for a month is £29.Are you kidding me? A RIPP OFF COMPANY, which sadly won't realise until you already signed with them. Doing a research apparently a change of address would cost you the same and to cancel fee is at least £55.Right now I would love to speak to Mark Godfrey the Head of the insurance! AND I SHOULD SHARE HOW GREAT YOU BREAKDOWN COVER IS Too since I had to stay behind the wheels at - 3 Celsius with the window open behind a recovery van and a piece of metal, didn't you hear of platform, not to mention my car is automatic. To summarise I DON'T RECOMMEND RAC AND YOU SHOULD BE AWARE IF THINKING OF BUYING INSURANCE FROM THEM AND READ THE SMALL PRINT! Reviewed on: 7th January 2017

Expensive Platnium breakdown cover is a ruse

When purchasing my vehicle I regretfully believed the car salesman that RAC breakdown cover was a good product. I paid £1099 for the platinum version which was meant to offer great cover if anything were to go wrong with the vehicle. Well, something did go wrong with the vehicle which was expensive to fix and RAC have angled every way they possibly can not to pay. Honestly, save your money and do not go near this company. RAC Rescue

Have been with the RAC for a few years and did not have to call them out until a few weeks ago! We were travelling to Wales for our family holiday when we broke down! After a bit of a wait a lovely chap arrived and managed get us going again! Worth every penny :) Reviewed on: 11th October 2016

Super quick in an emergency

I have never really thought about breakdown cover that is until I broke down! We rang RAC and were able to speak to someone quickly even without out knowing our registration number. It took less than 20 mins for a guy to come meet us and sort the car out. It's definitely what you need in a time of crisis! Reviewed on: 8th September 2016

First class breakdown cover

I changed over to the RAC approximately 6 years ago having experienced poor customer service from my previous provider and I couldn't be happier with them. The promptness of their response to a call out is amazing and they deal with the issue quickly and efficiently. I have used them approximately 3 times and never had to wait over 30 minutes; even when I used their Homestart service (on that occasion they said someone would be there in 40-60 minutes but they were there in under 20). Their customer service is excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend them - oh, and they come in cheaper than my previous provider too. I have had some experience of my previous provider since leaving them when my friend's car wouldn't start following an evening out. She called them at 10.40 and we were left sitting on the pub car park until 1.20 before anyone turned up; it was disgraceful. A second friend with another breakdown provider was left waiting for so long when she broke down that she was forced to knock on someone's door and ask them if she could use their toilet. I have told both of them, "change to the RAC, you'll get none of that hassle with them". I definitely wouldn't change! Reviewed on: 7th August 2016

THEY'VE BEEN ROBBED ME FOR 4 YEARS! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!

4 years ago I bought a Recover Cover online. I had to tick the box and accept their Terms&Conditions to be able to continue my application and forgot about. I wasn't aware at that time what this would mean for me in the future. Then I moved a house and never received any renewal letter from them. They had my email address, but obviously never notified me about (this is not in their interest!). I've been used a different recovery services for the last 4 last years.. and just found out that THEY'VE BEEN ROBBED ME FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS TOO! Once a year a full amount went out from my account AUTOMATICALLY ! When I rung them and asked for an explanation, they couldn't even find my details in their system! After 6 months I received a final response from RAC with a FULL REFUND DENIAL. Why would they?! I passed my complaint to Financial Ombudsman Services and at the same time to my bank.
