Review of the RBS, Select Current Account:

good

My wife and I have been customers of RBS in Rochdale for twenty years. We have three current accounts with them and a couple if ISAs. I can honestly say we have never - never - had any problems with them at all. The staff are always helpful and courteous; their online and telephone banking services work perfectly (though I haven't seen a bank manager for years); and the accounts always work well (except the interest rates, of course, are poor at the present time). We are, reluctantly, going to move one of our current accounts to another bank because of the special deals they are offering, which is caused by necessity in these difficult times. I felt I just had to send this after reading terrible reviews about the RBS, which are on the Review Centre site. Surely, it's not just me who's so delighted with RBS banking? Always on hand to help

42 years - No problems

RBS is a fantastic bank - I have never had a problem in 42 years - There are various ways to bank - In person, over the phone, on the internet or via an app. I use them all on different occasions. Reviewed on: 17th February 2016

Fine but not amazing!

I would love for my bank to be open on Saturdays however each time they ask me to come in for an annual review i have to take a day off work!!! So frustrating Reviewed on: 17th February 2016

Good app makes life a little easier

I feel quite indifferent about my bank but I do love my banking app on my phone which makes transfers between my accounts quick and straightforward and checking balances very easy, no more worrying about having insufficient funds! Everything I need and nice and simple

Adequate but never satisying

I use a variety of branches of my bank. I have only had a good experience in one. My two closest branches are the most disappointing. I have been given false information, refused a receipt, abused for asking for a receipt, perpetually lectured about online banking which I don't want and attended a hilarious mortgage meeting where they could give me no information at all "because rates could change" even though I looked up the info on their website. I did learn that their ex-husband refuses to pay maintenance and that their son sits around in their pants playing computer games. More Jeremy Kyle than the Help to Buy meeting I requested. Decent people in the Bank branch, unsatisfactory account handling

Although I always have pleasant contact with people who work at the Bank branch of RBS, I'm not satisfied with the overdraft fees and charges. They are extortionate and although I signed up for warnings, I only occasionally seem to get them. Reviewed on: 12th February 2016
