Top notch service

I love my bank (RBS) because it's the only bank I've had that I don't have to queue for 3 hours, the cashiers recognise you, you can ring your local branch and speak to someone there, and the manager always pops out to speak to people waiting in the queue. Reviewed on: 11th February 2016

Never let us down.

I have had a joint current account with RBS for over 30 years and throughout that time we have never had any problems. In fact they let us open 2 current accounts so my bills could be controlled separately from my day-to-day living expenses. When I needed to open another account to put money into trust, as instructed to do so in a will, they were the only bank that were interested in letting me do it! Basic, but not boring

I don't consider that i'm a regular visitor to RBS bank yet the staff recognise me and have a friendly chat often mentioning the conversation we had previously. I think that it quite some achievement when they must get hundreds, if not thousands, of customers walking through their doors every month. Reviewed on: 4th January 2016

New service information being posted to current customers

I have had a few letters from the RBS in the run up to Christmas advertising new services they have for offers such as cash back on your monthly bills. I like being offered and informed about some of the services and options available but some of them did not really suit me or my buying and savings habits. I may make a change to one of the payed accounts in the future and use the 3% rewards on household bills they told me about in one of the letters. This will more than cover the cost of the new account and costs. It would be good for me if there was some way of giving them basic information about my buying and savings habits even if not the details online so that I don't get all the junk mail for offers what will never be any use to me. Change to overdraft without informing me it would happen

I recently went into my overdraft for the first time in a while and I had previously arranged an overdraft without a fee. I found to my irritation that I was now being charged a fee. I was not informed of any changes to my account in relation to this. This may be due to mail going missing or due to me having been out of the city for large periods of time over the last few years. It does seem to be their standard account practice these days but it still makes me angry for there to be unexpected changes and charges I am not informed about. I did try to get more information without much success but as I am out of my overdraft it is no longer as urgent for me to chase this up. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015
