Instructions confirmation lacking

Telephone staff are polite, helpful and clear. My one criticism is: having used the phone-in system to give my ISA reinvestment instructions, I did not receive any confirmation by email or post. This was worrying and I had to phone again on the day of maturity to check that my instructions were going to be carried out. A simple email would have been sufficient. Reply from Family Building Society Hi Thank you for your comments and I am sorry that you were worried about not receiving confirmation of your ISA maturity instructions. Unless specifically requested, we don’t confirm instructions upon receipt, as we send out a new opening certificate as confirmation once the ISA has matured & been reinvested. However we appreciate your feedback, and your comments have been passed to the relevant department for their consideration. I am pleased to hear that you found our staff polite and helpful. She has been absolutely brilliant, showing enormous patience with a 93 year old struggling with the IT world. A superb experience with someone who epitomises good customer service. Helpful customer services

I needed more information about opening an ISA account and transferring in previous years ISA savings from another Building Society. It was wonderful to get through quickly to speak to a human being. Kieran Smith from Customer Services was very helpful. He talked me through the process so I could open the account on line while he sent the form for me to request the transfer in. Epsom counter service is without doubt best I have ever had. Alixis Osborne is to be commended for her polite, knowledgeable & professional customer service. We have been into Epsom branch twice now and have received a hello and cheerful welcome on both occasions. So very rare these days, long may it continue. Reviewed on: 8th April 2025

Information to savers

Whilst on the whole I am pleased with the customer service and interest rates offered by the Society I feel there is one major improvement that could be offered to existing savers:- Why can't emails be sent out when there are changes to the Society's interest rates or new accounts introduced ?
