Like many other people, I have tried to log in and keep getting that "This shouldn't have happened" message. I rang the bank and a very helpful person tried to get me logged in, then took me through clearing data, then adding my device, then deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing helped. She has sent my problem to the IT department and said it might take up to two days for them to contact me. This is extremely poor and frustrating. Reason enough to close my account when it matures and not open any more with Atom Bank. Disappointing.

As other reviews mentioned, the app is poorly designed. If you can’t log in, it ask you to try again, and again, and again. No further advice ever appears. There is a help button that gives the customer service telephone number. They told me that they cannot help until there system can see you have failed to log in. So they stayed on the line while I tried another 5 times to log in, but they couldn’t see it in their system, so they said they have to investigate further.

Just tried to open an account and my wife has been declined. Apparently they cannot verify her details yet we have lived at the address for just under 20 years. It sound like she has no credit history so I guess if she had huge debts she would have been accepted. But on the other hand there wouldn't have been 80k to invest!

I have a Moto G phone, one of the few on the permitted list. I managed to log in with the app after 3 or 4 attempts. 6 months later Atom updated the app and it stopped working. I phoned them and obtained an undertaking that I could give them my maturity instructions over the phone. A year later, just before maturity, I phoned and, after some resistance, Atom took my instructions. I was assured my funds would be paid out on the due date. But they weren’t. When I complained they said they did not have a record of my phone call and, anyway, they do not accept instructions over the phone. So what do you do if a bank refuses to hand back your money?
Update:
Sent Atom a stern email and they transferred my funds to my bank. Made a formal Complaint, so we'll see.

Atom: "can we close the Complaint?"
Me: "what are your findings?"
Atom: "a colleague didn't fully capture your instructions".
Me: "she made a mistake, right?"
Atom, "er, yes. We're very sorry".
No compensation was offered. I didn't bother asking for any. I won't be going near Atom again.

I would desperately like to open a fixer saver except I can't get the App to work on either an iPhone or an iPad. Stuck in a loop telling me to 'Please Wait' or 'Oops that shouldn't have happened'. Customer services just told me to uninstall and reinstall the App - no luck. How safe is my money? Is this a mickey mouse bank?

Cant log into my account, App keeps sending me in a loop. Site down now until the 22nd!!

Great Savings rate, letdown by app design

Very pleased with Atom, and very attractive saving rates. However the app is too complex and could be simplified

The following link gives some information around the devices we know are compatible at the moment: https://www.atombank.co.uk/supported-devices It mentions on that page how there are so many different types of mobiles and tablets with so many diverse operating systems, that we've selected the most popular devices and made sure they work perfectly with the current and previous operating system. Atom have made an upgrade to their software, and as you try to log onto your account it will not let you until you update on the App Store, however it fails to tell you that the update isn't on the App Store yet..so outcome is you are now locked out...

Slick app

Simple to use banking app showing progress being made from the old dinosaurs that are the high street banks. No issues, simple to use, easy to log in from a choice of password, facial recognition or voice recognition. Highly recommended.

F3 year fixed savings

Good rate of interest. So easy to sign up, open the account and deposit funds and the APP is brilliant.

It may be harder to grasp for people who are not well versed in technology. However, I have found it is the perfect choice for me, the rates are the best I have seen available to me and I can't touch it for a year, which is always good. The app works fine on my phone (Sony xperia xz) and seems very secure to me. Their help chat within the app is also very useful and replies are quick. I would recommend this to my parents, cousins, aunts and uncles, but not my grandparents.
