My local Hinckley & Rugby (SOUTH WIGSTON Leicestershire

My local Hinckley & Rugby (SOUTH WIGSTON Leicestershire) is the most supportive, polite, helpful and advisory building society I have ever used. Just one example of their help was, when I had issues with the DWP who had made an error in my payments. They were so supportive and helped me get over that stress of that so well. They have also given me some very handy tips on savings, ISA's and many other things they offer. Would highly recommend. Reviewed on: 21st April 2026

I lost my passbook and all details of my account so I called customer services and spoke to Jennifer. She was very polite and helpful and guided me through the process, gave me all the information I needed and explained about the online platform and how to register. Reviewed on: 21st April 2026

Great Building Society to invest money.

I invested some of my pension lump sum 6 years ago into a rainy day 90 day notice account. I get a reasonable interest rate without having to continually change to different accounts. Unlike other banks, I still have a branch local to me so can visit them as and when I need to make a withdrawal. Reviewed on: 20th April 2026

Staff are a bit hit and miss

Some of the older staff are a bit strict and make you feel silly for asking questions. The younger ones are lovely :). The opening times are a bit daft, and I've seen better interest rates. However, it is pretty bang average in all departments. Reviewed on: 20th April 2026
