I go to the Hinckley &Rugby Building Society in Broughton Astley and Hinckley. I have got to say what wonderful Staff they are. There is nothing which is too much trouble for them to help you with. They are all extremely friendly, greeting you with a big hello and I find that when I leave the building we have always had a chat and a laugh. I feel they are more like friends. Simply outstanding: customer service at its best: I became a new customer of HRBS in December. How very rare to receive personalised customer service instead of feeling like you are talking to a stressed and depersonalised call centre operator. I also ran into a problem in setting up my online access due to forgetting log in details. The assistant could not have been more helpful. If only HRBS offered a current account, I’d be there like a shot! Long may this excellence continue. Reviewed on: 19th April 2026

Personal Service

I visited the Hinckley branch to open an ISA with funds to be transferred in. The member of staff was efficient, making sure I was filling out the necessary forms correctly. It is so pleasant to have that personal service, sitting either side of a table rather than conversing with someone behind a glass screen. The rate of interest on the ISA was good too. Always there, always helpful.

I used to have a mortgage with Hinckley and Rugby Building Society and always had a great experience. I now have a 180 Day Notice Savings account with them, which offers very competitive rates with the drawback that, of course, I have to plan ahead and decide beforehand whether I may need a withdrawal. The staff in my local branch (yes, they still have a local branch) are always helpful and informative and note possible planned withdrawal dates in my physical account savings book. I feel I could always ask their advice about savings plans, which are best for me and they will always give an unbiased opinion. Always there, always helpful. Reviewed on: 18th April 2026
