WORST BUSINESS "SUPPORT" I HAVE EVER! EXPERIENCED! DO NO USE BARCLAYS

DO NOT USE BARCLAYS! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Do not! Open a business account with these absolute jokes! They need a signature on my account until I get full access to my account, features, and able to extend my bounce back loan!! So extremely important, sounds simple doesn't it this has been going on since beginning of JUNE 2021 it is now mid December 2021!...... I have filled in 11 yes 11 forms both a PDF online forms and forms they have sent me via post, but they have not added the signature to my account, they say they have not received it, even though I have sent using their pre-paid envelopes! And when done online their email address! I have called every other week for six months! Six months!! Trying to run a business and call Barclay's for at least 2 hours, and promises and promises, blame on the other team go to that team blame the other team and so on, and yet I still, have not got a signature on my account! Working from home is NOT working for Barclays, they are beyond useless! If my employee was as useless as the team they have working on the phones in the business team, they most certainly would have been sacked by now! They are NOT doing their job! Unfortunately, when you call for the 100th time and a little frustrated as they have yet not received ANOTHER signed form! And start to express y our frustration they hang up on you! DO NOT DEAL WITH BARCLAY BUSINESS!! I HAVE A FEW OTHER BUSINESS ACCOUNTS AND THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER “SUPPORT” OF THEM ALL, IN FACT THE WORST SO-CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD! GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE, PLEASE DO NOT USE BARCLAYS! YOU WILL REGRET IT. Reviewed on: 13th December 2021

Dreadful and a complete waste of money

As a freelance designer, I thought it would be good to have a business bank account - sounded more professional. The reality is that I get absolutely nothing back from Barclays for having my business account. It has never been useful to me and now all the branches are closed. The only reason I still have it, is that they are SO difficult to contact, I have never found the time to work out how to switch to a regular account that I don't have to pay for every month. Be prepared for interrogation

Trying to open a business account with these guys was like trying to get blood out of a stone....1st it couldn't link my company details to the companies house and took them 3 days to update...then once done I get integrated for my beauty company.....then when done and tried to pass the identity I had to go into the branch and they told me my water bill will not be accepted....then when I had my broadband bill on phone they said it had to be paper copy so I told them to print it they refused....anyway once I sent the print they took pictures of me and my passport then I was told it will take another 7 days to approve. So I have told them to cancel the whole thing....went to wise account opened with 1 hour. Reviewed on: 14th January 2025

Constant ID reviews.

Constant ID reviews are asked for. No matter how often you send the info. they dont seem to file it away or bother to read it. We have been with them thirty years and still they don’t know who we are. Today yet another review on. Pain of closing the count if we dont send it. Just awful awful customer relations. Use staff that English is their first language!!

Using the business credit card and using 2 factor authentication is pathetic but even worse is dealing with the noisy background customer service team that can hardly speak English let alone understand English. Clearly the people that decide to outsource customer service to a country that English is a second or third language NEVER have to call the call centre!! Reviewed on: 8th October 2024

I would give zero stars if I could. I have a small business and opened a Barclays business account. They phoned me out the blue and said they were from Know Your Customer team and asked for birth date, mother’s maiden name… I said sorry I don’t know who you are, was a bit rude and hung up. They then put a red mark against my name and account and for over a year have been demanding details about the business - making me complete forms of information, repeatedly said there’s missing details. They have frozen access to my bank account over 25 times in the last year. I’ve spent weeks worth of time talking to them to unfreeze it so I can pay people and receive income… it’s been awful. I have contract that pay in so it’s hard to switch banks. I put in a complaint and they closed that after two days without talking to me to resolve anything. Stay away from them if you are thinking of using them. This is harassment and I’ve thought of giving up on the business at times when I’ve been trying to pay things only to find my account frozen and it’s an hour wait in call centre queue to explain the issues yet again… Reviewed on: 25th September 2024

Horrible systems and service

Applied for a currency account 6 weeks ago. Was told it would take max 6 weeks before it was opened. Before then I would hear from the relevant department. Nothing has happened. I have chased this many times only to find out that they had lost my documents and had not done anything, but that they would now fast track the application. That was nearly 4 weeks ago. Nothing has happened. I will be leaving barclays after this horrible experience. I will close my business and personal account. Reviewed on: 27th May 2024

Three months to get a reply to a letter.

Dropped them after many years, after closure of all local business departments and branches. Awful communication problems, since I have problem on the phone. No email or chat, no contact form, no chatbot even! 3 months to get a reply to a letter! Reviewed on: 29th February 2024
