Helpful and competitive

Having left one job for another I decided to sort out my banking situation which I felt was not offering me the best value for my money. Moving to Halifax gained me a substantial transfer cash back package, free mobile and travel insurance and is far easier than my previous bank to contact and speak to someone personally if the need arises. Brilliant Customer Service!

I've held a current account with Halifax for approximately 10 years and in that time the only problems I have had were my card getting swallowed by an ATM and some attempted fraudulent activity on my account. A quick phonecall to Halifax sorted both problems promptly. The phone was always answered promptly and the customer service advisers were always friendly and a pleasure to talk to and on both counts everything was sorted within 10 minutes (replacement cards both times) and my replacement cards arrived within 3 working days. Above all, I am very pleased with what Halifax offers me as a customer and I have found their customer service second to none. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Easy from start to finish

Several months ago I created an easy cash current account online with Halifax. I was able to apply for the account online and have it approved all on the same day! I received my details not long after and was able to start using the account, which was easy to use. I particularly like the feature on the online banking where it tells you which payments you have pending to that card. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Pretty good.

Changed to halifax based on the £5 reward scheme which is better than most free current accounts offer. The app is nice and works well enough, the website does what you want it to, and staff in branch have been very helpful thus far. Reviewed on: 14th December 2015

no hassle bank account

Simple easy online access to my account, can get through to the call centres easily and every staff ive encountered have always been polite and helpful, only downfall is the £1 a day charge for being in your overdraft. Reviewed on: 21st November 2015

Consistently average for the most part

On the other hand, massively inconsistent when you need them to not be. Many pounds I've been swindled out of by Halifax bank. Incurring charges which are no fault of my own (The banks silly, costly mistakes) is certainly not uncommon. I've always been with Halifax because I didn't know how to change. I fully intend to make the switch to a more competent bank in the very near future. Reviewed on: 20th November 2015

I have had this account for several years without any problems. Indeed when some unauthorised transactions appeared the bank could not have been more helpful in sorting the problem.

I have had this account for several years without any problems. Changes to terms are communicated with good notice and are clear and easy to understand. The online service is good and can be used via a tablet or smartphone whilst rtetaining most of the features of the desktop version and without the need for an app. Reviewed on: 9th November 2015
