Almost no local branches remain and the staff are clueless but the reward's kind of OK

Thanks, the Halifax, for shutting down all my easily-accessible local branches. I've had to open a new bank account with a different company, specifically so I can cash the odd cheque and then I have to do an online transfer of whatever amount the cheque was for into my Halifax current account, but that's horses for courses. In my experience your in-branch bank staff are total numties, however. Left hand / right hand - neither knowing what the other one's doing. Banking rule... Reviewed on: 13th February 2016

Market-leader rates for holiday spending

The Halifax clarity credit card comes out top of the best-buy polls year after year as a card you can use abroad on your holidays. The exchange rates are good and being a Mastercard, it's universally accepted everywhere that accepts credit cards! I wouldn't go on holiday without mine! Reviewed on: 30th December 2015
