Halifax Mortgage

Just re-mortgaged with Halifax, spoke to a broker first to get market rates and was going to proceed down this route but Halifax were only marginally more expensive on rate but much lower on fee and on effort required by myself, Halifax advisors on the phone were really helpful and provided fairly unbiased advice on costs and next steps and did not try to ‘sell’ Halifax as a lender (unlike the broker who was after their fee!). Great for those who don’t have a clue...

I’ve had fantastic experience with Halifax customer service around my fixed rate mortgage. They were able to answer any questions I had - even some really simple ones - I felt like they didn’t judge me and I could ask anything! Poor. Big regret using Halifax for our mortgage

Never heard anything from Halifax (we bought our first home 3 months ago) other than a letter to say when our first mortgage payment was due. No “congratulations on your new home” no welcome pack or anything. When I called I was passed around and not given any concrete advice or support. I haven’t been given any login details to check my mortgage payments tracking or make overpayments or anything. Incredibly cold, impersonal, and quite frankly feels like they just want to take my money with no good customer experience or customer service. Reviewed on: 13th April 2025

Useless untrained, unprofessional

2 months into our application and still no further than day 1. Delay after delay has been made by Halifax as they are using untrained inexperienced underwriters. Requesting document after document even though they had already received these documents previously. Escalated to their senior management who ignored the escalation and didnt even have the respect to respond. We are a premier account holder with Halifax but this doesnt have any impact on their respect level for you. Respect is zero from Halifax. Constantly tried to upsell insurances.

Constantly tried to upsell insurances. Spend 1 and hour hours on phone then give a form to fill in repeating the whole process.
