Review of the Harpenden Building Society, Savings:

Slow and account has been setup with no details shared with customer

After I filled the application, I only heard from them that they are delayed but even after they have transferred my funds over, they have not sent me any details about my account, neither the account details nor online login details. I have sent them an email but haven't heard back for over a week. I would expect better customer experience. Reviewed on: 24th November 2023

Reply from Harpenden Building Society Dear F, Thank you for your feedback and i'm sorry to understand that you have been disappointed with the service you have received so far. As an explanation (and certainly not an excuse) we have recently experienced unprecedented demand for our online ISA. We received >350 applications in two days and had to make the decision to withdraw the product, but to honour applications received to that point. As such, we have experienced delays in processing applications and have communicated the delays to impacted customers. We are now up to date, so i'm disappointed that you still have not received any communications from us. Lost passbook by the Royal Mail

The Royal Mail lost my passbook in the post The Society were very helpful in sorting the problem. The staff dealt with the matter by telephone and post. Great customer service, thanks Reviewed on: 24th February 2025

Local branch with good opening hours. Informed staff, very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Too many products are online only though, for us older generation are missing out not having access to all products. Reviewed on: 31st January 2025
