Exactly what we needed

We have stayed with Lloyds Home Insurance because having looked at alternatives we could not do better in terms of the cover given for the premium. Reviewed on: 31st August 2019

Horrible experience for the elderly

1
Horrible experience with Customer Services trying to help my elderly Father cancel his home insurance. I was sitting with my Dad helping him understand the questions he was asked - he is 81 has just come out of hospital and is hard of hearing. It's fair to say that finances aren't his strong point! He went on the phone and managed to answer security questions Policy Number, DOB, Postcode, Full name and who else was named on the policy but didn't know when the expiry date was. I pointed it out on the form and told him and Melisha said she could no longer help him as I had 'given him the answers'. This had nothing to do with security and everything to do with stopping my Dad cancel a policy that was costing 3 times the usual cost of insurance. It should be easy to cancel a policy. There is clearly no possible financial gain for me in helping him, I'm not transferring millions from a bank account. Steer clear of them and make sure your elderly relatives aren't paying through the nose. Reviewed on: 6th August 2019

Utterly shocking

They keep rejecing our valid claim due to lack of evidence. I had a very similiar experience to someone I know and their insurance company paid staight away. Will probablyhave to take legal advice. DO NOT USE. Reviewed on: 14th May 2019

The Worst Experience I Have Ever Had

1
The worst experience I have ever had. Phoned to cancel policy renewal, and subjected to repeated hard-sell despite repeatedly saying I'm not interest. Operator refused to cancel my policy renewal unless I paid a cancellation fee, despite cancelling within allowed period. Put me to two extremely rude managers who threatened to report me for being insured elsewhere and insisted I had to renew or pay a fine. Eventually resolved after an hour of extreme stress. We have been wasting our money for years!!!

1
just had our second claim rejected by LLoyds 1) garage roof was corrugated asbestos with one panel of clear polycarbonate to let light in. had very heavy snow which froze and caused a leak in the polycarbonate part of the roof. Not insured apparently...as the roof was not adequately maintained despite us having a mortgage survey on the whole property less than a year ago! signs of damp apparently are that the wood has gone darker in colour??? 2)Two bikes stolen from outside back of garage while roof is repaired (not in view of streets) bikes were chained to lifting handle on 1000 litre hot tub which weighs 1.5 tons...apparently this does not constitute a permanent structure. was told we should have had a bike rack in our back garden. My partner was sold the policy that cycles were covered as long as they were in the confines of the property...no mention of small print or having bike racks installed to meet policy requirements. feel like anything we would claim for would be rejected... Outstanding

I have been lucky enough to have Lloyds Building and Contents insurance when I was unlucky enough to have a major leak in my house. 1000lts of water leaked into the concrete floor of my kitchen and ruined the kitchen cabinets and the plaster. Lloyds assigned an assessor and he helped us all the way through our nightmare as the kitchen was dug up and was out of use for months. They didn’t quibble over anything and every time I had a question or a problem cropped up with the contractor the assessor was there to sort things out, smooth things over and help. I genuinely couldn’t recommend Lloyds highly enough they have been outstanding. Reviewed on: 21st January 2019

Disappointing

After be a customer of Lloyd’s home insurance for years and never having claimed was told the leak in my roof was not storm damage? As he had looked up the weather and there had been no storms in the las 3 months Abdul seemed quite excited to tell me I wasent covered Suggest everyone checks there policy Obviously cancelled mine. Rip off

1
Tried to make a claim on home contents insurance did not pay out suggested I was not telling truth and even though they could not prove anything they cancelled my insurance and thus making it more expensive for me to take out any type of insurance for at least 5 years. Reported to financial ombudsman but they said " according to there terms and conditions they only have to think you are not telling the truth and they can terminate your policy and there is nothing you can do about it, they do not have to prove anything." And this applies to most insurance company's. Reviewed on: 17th November 2018
