Freezer Claim

1
Appalling Customer Claim Service! Tried to claim for my freezer & Contents after I’d lost everything, never made a claim before & was Shocked at Lloyds Agent when I tried to claim... Got told to pull the food out of wheelie Bin & photograph it! Then said I’d need to contact Sainsbury’s etc to get copies of my food shopping receipts to prove purchases, Lloyds Agents whole manner in speaking to me was as if I was lying & trying to rob them!! When I asked if my claim would effect my policy as I thought I was protected, I was given a load of waffle about not having the policy for 6yrs + so my claims bonus wasn’t protected, Basically Told if I Claim they’ll just raise my monthly policy costs to get it all back! Left with Nothing & Feeling it was pointless paying for this Contents Ins with Lloyds every month if it’s not going to Help when you need it? Personally Don’t Waste Your Money. I’m Now Looking Elsewhere for a Trustworthy Company Reviewed on: 16th March 2018

Abysmal, No idea what they are doing.

1
Trying to deal with Lloyds, and they are abysmal. They told me I should have read my policy prior to making my claim, they clearly did not check my notes the day before when I called them to query why I still had not had a copy of my policy. They very much treat you like a criminal, virtually suggesting that are trying to defraud them. The irony is, in 15 years of having car insurance and home insurance, I've never ever claimed off any insurance policy. I took photos to show them, and called them immediately to report the incident. If they looked at their own records they would see I was insured with them the prior year and never claimed either. They told me I want to claim for too many damaged items, but they haven't even got the claim list - as I told them I would have to ring them with it. Reviewed on: 25th January 2018

So much for loyalty, renewal is 4 times higher then new quote from them!!!!

1
My wife has been renewing the home insurance with Lloyds but now I'm retired I checked their renewal quote and found it is 4 times more expensive then a new quote from them, and that was twice as expensive as competitors. Really feel abused !!!! Reviewed on: 2nd November 2017

Appalling

Four years of premiums without one claim. Refused to cover damage to roof of property despite admitting there were 'storm conditions' in the area at the time. Will be shopping for another provider. Avoid. Reviewed on: 13th September 2017

Horrendous Service (Home Insurance)

Having been with lloyds for 21 years for home insurance and paying £85 per month I was horrified to be told that I'd need to pay £1000 excess for cracked internal wall. Let me tell you this was advised by advisor on the phone and he asked did I know how and when the crack appeared, did I know a structural engineer! Seriously! He told me to contact a builder get a quote then they'd decide if I would be covered. Did as they requested only to be told the crack in my wall did not cover me,with no good reason given to why I was not covered. Frustrated by the situation I contacted there complaints team and I'm still not really any further forward, I've now contacted the financial ombudsman and will await there outcome. AVOID THIS COMPANY! Reviewed on: 3rd September 2017

Cheap cover, but lousy big claim response

My elderly and disabled mum's home was severely damaged by a fire started by a negligent workman working at a neighbouring property. Lloyds loss assessor was charming and effusively reassuring at first but utterly appalling to deal with. Despite the fact that Lloyds are reclaiming the settlement from next door's insurers, he quibbled and fought on every bit of expense. Next door's settlement (mirror image semi) was £260k. Mum's home, which also needed back-to-brick repair & refurb throughout, he fought to keep down to well under 100k. She ended up having to shell out thousands from her own pocket. He wouldn't approve anything that he felt wasn't 100% down to the extensive smoke and water damage to the property, added several months' delay to works being completed by insisting on needless third party tests (that confirmed our own workmens' finding), curtailed the time they were prepared to pay for alternative accommodation, and in short showed no shred of practical sympathy, understanding or flexibility to meet the needs of a very vulnerable, elderly & disabled client. I wouldn't call him a heartless bastard. Given enough time I'm sure I could come up with a complimentary description - just can't think of one offhand. Won't touch Lloyds again.
